Mayor warns 'Girls Gone Wild' cast not to encourage flashing

Friday, March 7, 2003 Posted: 5:22 AM EST (1022 GMT)

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Florida (AP) -- If girls go wild, they'll go to jail -- and so will those who videotape them baring it all, says the mayor of America's top spring break destination.

The creators of the "Girls Gone Wild" videos are planning a live pay-per-view broadcast next Thursday from an undisclosed spring break destination. In the videos, college-age women bare their breasts while partying.

"I hope, and have asked, that those people who unchain (the girls) and ask them to go wild make that trip" to jail, said Mayor Lee Sullivan, a former police chief.

A call to "Girls Gone Wild" was not immediately returned Thursday.

Panama City Beach police and the sheriff's office have been on the alert since the recent arrival of the "Girls Gone Wild" production crew and tour bus.

Police Maj. David Humphreys said officers will be on the lookout for public nudity, lewd acts and disorderly conduct. They will also arrest anyone who solicits someone else to violate the law, he said.

So . . . ? How long until WWE's name is dragged through the mud again, eh?

Oh god, what's the big deal about some girls flashing their tits? Not like there's going to be kids in a bar at some spring break hotspot, or in the street in front of it.

I think it's funny that Bischoff and Test go and get affiliated with this and then it runs into trouble with THE MAN. tsk, tsk.

Does this mean the Nude Body Challenge may not happen now?

Did you ever think this was gonna happen? This is WWE were talking about here. They are not going to sabatoge Torrie's Playboy by letting her pose nude on PPV. Nidia is a different story.

I would think that flashing would be a pretty normal thing - being that it is Panama City and it is Spring Break...

And to think, I spent my freshman year of high school there. Too young to enjoy any of it. Move about a mile north and you're in the bible belt :(

Well I already responded to this in the WWE thread, so I will just sum it up by asking, Don't the cops have more dangerous/important things to be doing with their time than making sure girls don't flash their tits?

This happened tuesday night in Baltimore:

A WIYY 98Rock-sponsored "Pardi Gras" at a Baltimore nightclub on Tuesday resulted in numerous women being charged with indecent exposure. According to the Sun, "a dozen or more women - urged by a bar, a radio station and the makers of a video series to take off their tops - were cited for indecent exposure as they stepped off the stage last night at a Baltimore nightclub." The event was one of several nationwide in which local contestants were being chosen to compete in a pay-per-view special. "We've done this for eight years," club owner Damian Bohager told the Sun. "This is Fat Tuesday. This is Mardi Gras. Baltimore is one of the major cities in the country. And all of the sudden, the vice squad comes out of nowhere and starts issuing citations? For this? Do you think that would happen in New Orleans?" 98Rock's evening team of Mickey Cucchiella and Amelia Ryerse were on-air live from the event. The women who received police citations are required to appear in court in early April.....

My guess is that cities are strapped for cash and see a goldmine being formed at parties and whatnot where they are pretty certain that people will egg on women to get naked, and then they can slap them with public indecency/indecent exposure and make em pay a fine.
