WWE writer endorses racism in storylines

The first time I realized the WWE may pull something like this eventually was the first time I saw the Booker man hawking fried chicken TV dinners. Now if HHH starts using that as fuel, as much as I hate the guy I may have to laugh. Not a Hurricane/Rock laugh ut at least a chuckle.

I just think if they push the race thing anymore Booker just needs to bring up HHH's "I may be bi- a lot of things, but lingual isn't one of them" line.

Oh you mean the "Fried Chicken, mashed potatahs, corn 'n puddin'!"?

And, let's not forget the "Fried chicken, and ree-ubs (ribs)."

A whole pound of food. Those commercials were soooooo bad, but somehow entertaining.

Yeah...That was odd...

Booker hasn't done much to go against the grain has he?

I think the promo's were written to subtly hint at racism through condescension. I don't agree with it, but it wasn't nearly as bad as folks made it out to be. I'd put this as controversial as Austin being "crucified" on the Undertaker symbol a few years ago, which wasn't that big a deal to me anyway. My thing is the only way this condescension of Booker works is if Booker goes over clean on HHH. I have hope that they will do what is right and have Book go over because a) it makes Booker look uber-ghey if he can't get retribution for HHH talking down to him and b) I have an online contract saying I won't watch Raw until HHH drops the title.

The racial elements of Bookers storylines..i have never found humorous..but that's what those dumb ass writers r counting on..the small element of humor they slip in there to make it less serious..and subtle..u know what they r getting at....they know apart of their audience will laugh..and they do...& that element of society will always b there..it's pretty obvious Booker is black..but to have that element of him highlighted often is unfair..and takes away from what he can really do..

It's like they can't buy a clue and do anything else for his character except that..the writers minds probably go blank..when they try 2 think of anything else ..but probably go.."oh yeah..lets write a skit on his hair again..

But they consistently push other wrestlers down our throats that we will never care anything about..with storyline after failed storyline....*cough*..Test..Albert

But after all this is the WWF (E).."sports entertainment"..home to storylines..such as Sammy the transvesite..Nichole Bass..i don't expect anything better from them now or ever..they have always shown they are equal oppurtunity offenders..Its always been a traveling circus anyway..with Vince as the ringmaster..

It will b messed up if Booker gets the title..but drops it 2 HHH again...soon after..but i do hope he wins though..

The Shield aksi reels out 'shit' all the time.

Until he said nappy hair, the implication to me was that he was a joke wrestler, and HHH was a consummate professional (From HGH's POV, of course). There were some racial undertones, which I didn't really like. Why make an issue out of Book being black? He's pretty much loved by fans universally, and doesn't need a sympathy 'oh HHH is racist' angle to help his overness.

If it evolves as the serious wrestler/entertainer feud, it could be great, with Booker beating HHH and then celebrating w/ a spinaroonie just show him up, saying: 'See, I can outwrestle you AND entertain.' That would be a good, well-booked feud (though rushed, for WM).

But what are the chances they'll go with a wrestling feud rather than play up shock value.

I heard that Booker will soon be making pancakes and cream of wheat commercials,lol,j/k.But back to HHH's promo, the promo didn't bother me that much it was the way the made Booker look, like a punk who got dissed big time by the Cripple one, if Book would've done or said something to get his heat back then i would've said that Booker looked strong or at the same level as Trips.

Wrestling in general has always exploited racial differences to generate excitement. If you think what you see on TV these days is bad, imagine what some old time deep south promotions must have been like. I shudder at the thought.

Too bad humankind hasn't been able to evolve past this sort of thing yet.

That's a good point..humankind hasn't gotten past it yet..and i believe as long as it exists it never will..that element..not appreciating diffrences.. and pointing them out..will always b here..that's apart of human nature 4 some..& It's been here since the time of Christ..simple fact..

And it's probably a given that most if not all of the present and past..WWF (E)..writers are not people of color..so u can just imagine whats swirling in their minds..nothing enlightning i bet....about Blacks..Asians..etc..4 them to continue to put that stuff out..

Some1 correct me if i am wrong..but i remember Bret Hart saying that during his whole Anti-Us thing..the writers wanted him 2 say stuff about blacks..etc..but he refused..so the WWF (E)..has always used that to offend/entertain.. and get their audience talking...we are talking about it now..

Why was it stupid for Ahmed to join the Nation? It makes sense that Black man tired of the white man's bullshit would be willing to join the group that symphatize his beliefs.

It was stupid because it was out of nowhere and Ahmed had made it his life's mission to kill Farooq. What "white man's bullshit" was Ahmed putting up with anyway?

It bordered on racism, but as long as HHH stays away from watermelon, fried chicken and orange soda, it's OK by me.

Or collard greens ... although that might be something only people in the South are aware of.

The only way any of this would be justified would be if booker won at mania. The words 'sheyeah' and 'riight' spring to mind. Still, it isn't going to garner hhh any support or ratings, and prove that resorting to subjects like this to keep his heat are making him and wrestling in general look ridiculous.
