Orton injured for rest of his life

Recommended Posts

Well, this is disappointing.

When I saw the title, I assumed it was going to be a tongue-in-cheek parody of the fact that he's really, really injury-prone. What a letdown to know that he's actually injured and will have repercussions for the rest of his life. :(

Yeah, being injuried for the rest of his career must be driving him nuts.

...I also just thought of something.

Wanna know what would be kinda even creepier than him ending up being injuried just like his father?

If Randy Orton gained the EXACT gimmick his dad did.

At the risk of sounding morbid, pessimistic, and a doomsayer:

"Randy Orton has been told that he will have pain in his foot for the rest of his life, due to the severity of his current foot injury. Orton will now have to work through pain even after he returns."

"This sucks. Guys like Orton are the future of WWE. Hopefully, he WON'T feel pain in his foot for the rest of his life. This could also lead to an addiction to painkillers. Stronger men have gotten hooked on them."

Upon reading these two thoughts so close together, I was immediately reminded of one of those "stronger men"; Brian Pillman, his serious foot injury, and subsequent painkiller addiction.

Let's hope any further similarities between the two men remain figments of my overactive imagination... [i.e. that Orton's perpetual foot pain never leads to any sort of dependancy on painkillers or, failing that, that he at least overcomes it quickly].

Was Bob Orton ever ACTUALLY injured? Or was this some ingenious idea that ran for years?

In a Confidential interview, Orton said that his arm didn't heal right for years because it wasn't healed fully when he came back to the ring, and then kept bashing people in the head with the cast.

Bear in mind, being old school and all, Bob Orton MAY have been kayfabing and making excuses as to why he would need a cast for so long.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Orton really did have a messed up arm.

I was thinking of Pillman when I wrote that. He was a strong-willed guy if I ever saw one.

I'm not reading through the whole thread, but this sucks for Randy. I like him, and this fucks him over for the rest of his wrestling career.

Best of luck Randy.

I can't hate him because he's never really had a match. I think his longest was against UNDERTAKER, for fuck's sake and was ok. I refuse to dismiss raw undercarders because they never get more than 2 minutes and will never be able to get past hhh (in one way or another). But hey, Flair broke his back in what, 79?

Watch Orton from OVW, he had some incredible matches. In one indy, I can't remember the name, I went to with a friend of mine he wrestled in a sixty minute draw in one of the best indy matches I've seen in a long while.

Remember when Brock rolled through Orton's bodypress and held on for the F5? That was pretty sweet.

Orton also has about the right size and look to mean something in WWE, I'm surprised they didn't go for it with him straight away.
