Something jr said during wmx8.....

During the UT/Flair match JR said "You know one of these days someone's going to come along and kick old booger red's ass! See what he thinks about that day!"

This got me to thinking. The Undertaker has had those opponents that have dominated him but in the end he's beaten them. Nobody in the WWF(except Austin) has truly definetively kicked UT's ass. And JR seemed to be foreshadowing something.

Was JR just blowing out his ass as usual or was he foreshadowing someone beating UT's ass soon?

I'd assume that he's just blowing smoke.

Even guys top guys like Austin, HHH, Angle and Rock have never really gotten the better of Taker...they all trade victories.

I expect that HHH will be cashing in his Taker job ticket soon.

It's an off hand comment that is supposed to mean "UT wouldn't like if it this happened to him". The WWF doesn't even know what they're going to do a week ahead of time, the idea that Ross would foreshadow is by god silly.

I think the Undertaker is going to go for the title pretty quickly so I don't know who they could be talking about.

He was probably just 'blowing it out of his ass' like you said. That said, all of the Horsemen-related factors in that feud seemed to hint at the involvement of Chris Benoit. Benoit could be the guy who kicks his ass.

Yes. And Benoit's so huge(muscle wise) and his moveset has such impact that the fans could probably buy him beating the #### out of Taker. I mean if it was someone like Jericho the fans wouldn't believe it. But a guy as muscular as Benoit with his intensity the fans would buy. That'd be awesome...

I'm going with Sakura on this one. If they were truly foreshadowing the coming of the TakerKiller™, JR would have been screaming "By God! I hope someone takes it to that heinous monster! Someone 6'10, 350lbs., who played for the Univ. of some backwater town in Oklahoma, etc etc." Lately JR isn't known for his subtlety (although I'm still restraining the urge to liken him to Schiavone).

While I'm at it, has anyone explained the whole "Booger Red" thing? Even Lawler had no clue during WM.

Umm......dude the colleges he always talks about(OU, OSU) aren't in backwater towns. They're in big cities. H*ll OU is in the second fastest growing city in Oklahoma.

And no he never explained the booger red thing. When Lawler confronted him he was like "Call the d*mn match King!"

Maybe it means his nose bleeds so he's tough because he like, gets hit in the nose and doesn't care....or something.

It would be nice to see Undertaker (the charcter) get a reciept from all these people hes been screwing with

Ric Flair, David Flair, Arn Anderson, Maven, Snow, Hardyz. Not even so much lose a match to one of them as much as they all just gang attack him in succession.

I dont think they have the planning to foreshadow like that though.

Usually when they foreshadow it's not so subtle.

I used "backwater" to illustrate the comedic tone of my response. Perhaps in future I'll do this --->  ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

(all in jest, of course)

And if I remember correctly, JR said he'd explain tomorrow (i.e. Monday night) what "Booger Red" meant. He didn't.

If I can't believe in Good Ol JR, who can I believe in?

It's ok. I'm just getting tired of JR portraying us as a bunch of cowboys and backwater hicks. And people believing that that's what all Oklahomans are like. The dude is full of crap. I've never ridden a horse, been on a farm, or any of that stuff that he makes us out to do. H*ll I live in a house in the suburbs of Oklahoma city. Probably according to JR OKC is an old western town with people dating there cousins and shooting dogs.

This is why I hate Jim Ross.

Sorry if I touched a nerve. I kinda know what you're going through. When you live in NJ, you kinda end up being New York's bitch, having to hear the same "bridge-and-tunnel trash" jokes all the time.

I'd have an easier time with Taker if a) they didn't play that #### Limp Bizkit song, and b) if he actually played the heel like he did during the David Flair beatdown (although in the eyes of the IWC, that would be seen as the actions of a face)  ;)

But who knows, one day the Dead Man will get his comeuppance. But I won't hold my breath over it...

I have been losing sleep over the definition of Booger Red...#### you JR!!!

JR is blowing smoke. I've read rumors that said The Undertaker will feud with HHH over the WWF Title soon. Which is probably after HHH finishes off his feud with Jericho.

A quick jaunt over to askjeeves.com states that Booger Red is a rockabilly song by Sid King and his Five Strings. Don't know the significance, but I'll dig deeper if it means you get to sleep...  ;)

Booger Red is redneck-ese for someone who has red hair.

Booger Red was an old gimmick that Marc Calloway had in the 80's.  He's had 11 gimmicks during his time as a Wrestler.

But I don't think that was what JR meant by the comment.  But Booger Red was an old gimmick of Calloway's.

Damaramu, if YOU had the stories that JR and Cornette have from working Mid-South shows in Oklahoma, YOU'D probably think that the state was pretty bass-ackward too.

I'm not defending it as much as saying that JR probably hasn't spent a lot of time in Oklahoma in 10-15 years when he went to work for Crockett,.

Maybe JR just realized that Taker should have an absolute ass kicking coming his way for all the asses he's kicked over the years, as a babyface or a heel he really has been #######.  He no-sells everyone other than the top 3's stuff and just decimates them.  He rarely gives any one anything in a match, IMO is way past due for someone to just maul and embarrass the Undertaker.  Put my vote in for Benoit. He should be over as a face upon his return adn him giving the german's and then making him tap would get him way over and postition him for a real run at the World title.

Thanks for all your input, I guess JR is the only person who knows its real significance (if it has any).

Off the topic of the Booger Red thing, did anyone else realize Flair had on the same outfit at WWF WrestleMania X8 as he did at WWF WrestleMania VIII,I don't know if this means anything but it just seems kind of weird.

Thanks.

I did notice Flair's outfit was the same.  He probably just did it a injioke fo rhis hardcore fans.

Guest Tony149

Flair had the same tights, but a different robe. Flair doesn't wear the kick ass robes from the late '80s-early '90s anymore. Although his robes are still cool.

Well i wouldn't be surprised to see someone totally kick his ass before he retires. Didn't he totally kick Hogan's ass when Hogan was leaving. However at this point it was probably just JR talking from his ass.

Guest goodhelmet

i agree that JR was just blowing smoke but if they play this right, near the end of Taker's contract, they bring up another one of those OVW monsters and absolutely squash Taker. Boom, instant main eventer and Booger Red will have proven how much of a company man he really is.

Guest Brian
Posted

But maybe in the end he's going to fall prey to that one guy that can beat him. Hopefully it's a Benoit or RVD where the rub would be almost enough to cement them.

Guest goodhelmet

Unfortunately, it will probably be some 'hoss' like Kane, Test or Albert.

Guest notJames

Until then, it looks like ol' Booger Red is getting a title shot at Backlash, so say the Torch or the Observer or whoever else the [insert other wrestling website here] cribbed... I mean quoted it from.

I wonder who'll get the bigger face pop. Taker's gonna have to go through a lot of Levesque's pets to make him the heel in this one. ;)

Brock Lesner!

Well, actually more likely it will be Benoit. I predict (I have a history of predicting the opposite of what happens but there's still hope.) That Benoit gets back and creates the four horesmen with himslef, Flair, Jericho, and maybe Storm or Arn. He will feud with Taker and will lose maybe two or three matches in a row because Tker cheats, Taker will do a bunch of bad stuff to Benoit like feed him his dog, drive away with his dad's coffin, and cut his car in half. Then Benoit will kick the crap out of him.
