Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 11, 2003 CBS always has the exclusive right to reveal the brackets first. That's their tradition. Sportscenter will have them soon afterwards and then there's that "Bracketology 101" special at 7. Things are getting interesting since St. Bona, Villanova, Georgia, and others are either out or probably going to be out... Maybe this means that LSU will move up to an 11 or 10 seed... hell, maybe higher than that if they run the table in the SEC tourney.

Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I am glad IUPUI made it. That has to be one of my favourite names for a school. Too bad they will be out in the first round.

Guest Human Fly Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Can Cincinnati win an important game this year? Looking back I am shocked we beat Louisville, OK St., and Oregon. If we hadn't pulled those flukes off we would be NIT bound for sure. As it is at 17-11 I am nervous going into selection Sunday.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Don't be worried...we have a better RPI then TONS of teams that are "sure" picks. Cincy is automatically in...Just the thing is...Expect to be a #7-12 seed.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Choken: Webber St. had a chance at making it has a at-large team if they would of loss. Bilas and Katz on Espn said it. It wasn't certain, but they would of been a bubble team. That game was in 1999? The RPI is so overrated. Did Cincinnati beat anyone.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Heh... my alma mater pulled one out of their asses all right considering they've been playing like crap most of the year. What is it about Cincy and the C-USA tournament anyway? A few years back they lost K-Mart in their game against St. Louis, lost the game, and lost out on a #1 seed as a result. Now they may have lost out on a bid PERIOD considering they lost to a team that flat-out sucks. The only team worth a crap USM's beaten this season was Memphis, and that's because it's one of the few regional rivalries in C-USA. Sidenote- What other conference spans the nation from West Point, NY (Army) to Milwaukee (Marquette) to Dallas-Ft. Worth (TCU) to Miami (South Florida)? The only ones even close to covering that kind of territory are in the West like the Pac 10, Mountain West, and WAC. Just about the only things close to regional rivalries that I know of are USM-Memphis, USM-Tulane, and USM-Louisville.

Guest cabbageboy Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I have no idea what to make of Cincy. They've played basically 3 good games all year, and that U of L game was screwy due to Cincy shooting 58 friggin FTs. To be honest CUSA has some of the worst looking basketball one will ever see. The league has been influenced so long by Cincy's thuggish bone and club type play that everyone plays that hideous style aside from U of L. Violent, slowdown crap. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Hey damnit Cincinnati's thug ball style rules all. I'd much rather watch thug ball than watch finesse ball.

Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted March 13, 2003 My biggest problem with Cinnci is: A) They don't graduate anyone. Last I checked they have one of the lowest graduation rates in the country. It may even be at 0%. That to me is pathetic. B) They tend to choke in the NCAA's. Last year they choked against UCLA. In other years they never seem to get to the sweet 16. In other news: UCLA is about to pull off a huge upset against Arizona... Which shows how hard it is to beat a team three times in a row in a season. It also shows that UCLA has probably badly underachieved this year.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Cincy beat Oregon, Louisville, Oklahoma St... Thanks. The Arizona came doesn't mean anything. They've locked up a #1. seed, hopefully UCLA doesn't win the Pac 10 tourney.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I wouldn't Mind seeing Lavin win as a "Fuck You" to UCLA...
Guest kingkamala Report post Posted March 14, 2003 OMFG UCLA beat Arizona, stop the presses! Damn, Arizona is one of my current favs and I frikkin hate UCLA. I hope UCLA gets eliminated by whoever they face in the next round.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 14, 2003 It's their fault. They played HORRIBLE "D" and Olson's "Who gives a Fuck" attitude about the Pac10 tourny is what did them in.
Guest Vern Gagne Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I agree with Olson about the tournament. I wish the Big 10 didn't have one.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 14, 2003 True...I find the B10 the most lackluster divison around because they all seem the same. My Take is that Conf. Tourneys are merely Appitizers for non-regular season watchers so they can get a good feel for their brackets. All they tend to do is allow two or maybe three undeserving teams that just happen to play good for three games straight and cancel teams out that were good in the season but just didn't perform in the Conf. Tourny. Oh, Well...Still The Conf. Tourney is still fun enough though...
Guest phoenixrising Report post Posted March 14, 2003 (begin incoherent celebration) UCLA UCLA UCLA GOODBYE ZONA GO BACK TO TUCSON UCLA UCLA #1 I LOVE YOU LAVIN THANK YOU THANK YOU (end incoherent celebration) Now I have some doubts about firing Lavin, though quitting on the team in midseason is still inexcuable. As to the person who said UCLA has underachieved all season...dead on. Remember UCLA was ranked 14th or 15th to start the year...there is a lot of talent on the team, way too much for them to be having the bad season they had. There's a small ray of hope though...two more games to win for an automatic bid. Next year UCLA should be good with Cummings, Thompson, Patterson and Hollins all returning. It remains to be seen who will be guiding that unit. Eh, I'll worry about the near future later. I just want to be excited for now.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Anyone catch the end to the Kansas St./Colorado game? That K-State player has got to feel awful.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I still think Lavin needs to go. I have noticed that UCLA continually underachieves in the regular season every year Lavin has coached. With all that talent, UCLA should be battling year in and year out for the Pac Ten crown. I think that Lavin might be able to save his job if UCLA can win Pac-10 tourney and then win a few games in NCAA's. But UCLA should not be in this position, and that is why Lavin needs to go, and start anew at another team.
