Guest RickyChosyu Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 That seems to be the general opinion I've gotten from most AJ-heads, Wolverine. The point I was trying to make was that those matches between Misawa and Kobashi included moves like Emerald Frosion, Burning Hammer, Half-Nelson Suplex, etc. right? They still managed to be compelling, smartly-worked matches, even with the nutty bumps. From the little AJPW I have seen, even some of the more goofy performances by Kobashi and Misawa were no more proposterous than many of the ridiculous selling moments Kanemoto has given us. I don't see any sense in denouncing Kenta's decisions in the ring while trying to defend Koji's at the same time.
Guest wolverine Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 The Burning Hammer and Emerald Frosion were byproducts of the deterioration of the style in 98/99. The BH actually wasn't used in either one of those matches, though (it was just teased).
Guest BionicRedneck Posted March 20, 2003 Report Posted March 20, 2003 Apparently Meltzer has slapped 5* on this latest Kobashi/Misawa match. But, then he always was a Kobashi mark.
