Guest Steviekick Report post Posted March 9, 2003 This summer Danzig is putting together his own Ozzfest/Lollapolooza tour/festival called the Blackest of the Black. It's starting in May with limited west coast dates with Danzig, Superjoint Ritual, Immortal, and the Haunted, more to be named. These are the dates so far announced: FRIDAY MAY 2 - MESA AMPITHEATRE, PHOENIX, AZ SATURDAY MAY 3 - UNIVERSAL AMPITHEATRE, LOS ANGELES, CA After that, it's supposedly going to go on to be a full fledged national tour. All the bands so far are cool and I have gone to see, but I really don't know if it is going to be all that succesful. What are your thoughts on this and is anyone here interested in going? Guest Steviekick Report post Posted March 10, 2003 There's also rumors going around that no one wants to loan Danzig the money to pull off such a big tour. Some form of reunion of his other bands Samhain or Misfits have been dropped...I can guaran-DAMN-tee you all that if it's headlined by a Misfits reunion or even a partial one that it is going to be insane~! I still think their best album was the first one with Peter Dolving doin lead vocals...the man is insane. The other two are good, but Dolving is so freaking intense. Great stuff. Guest whatitistoburn Report post Posted March 12, 2003 This is what I've been told (I work at a radio station as a metal director, so I have an interest in this stuff): They're only doing 3 shows right now, if those go well they'll do a real tour in the fall. Last I heard, Danzig said there's no way in hell he's getting back in the misfits, and besides, there isn't even really a Misfits anymore.
