Guest Evolution Report post Posted March 11, 2003 The picture fades in on John Duran sitting in his locker room, dressed in all black. His head is hung low for a few seconds, his jet black hair hanging down slightly over his downward-pointed eyes, seemingly deep in thought before he lifts his head, looking dead center at the camera. Duran is wearing a shirt that on the front reads “JOHN DURAN” in big white letters. Duran: “Everyone has seen what I can do. I defeated Aaron Carpenter on Wrath Sunday, and now I have been given an opportunity to go for the SJL Television Title. However, I will have to earn it. I have to make this opportunity mine, and become a #1 contender for the TV title. The roots of these wants for glory and stardom root back to college when I wrestled with Randy Turner on the college wrestling team. Every day, when I would go in to lift weights, there was a poster posted on the wall. It said ‘Opportunity knocks. Will you answer the door?’ See, I remember that poster now, as I prepare for this match.” Duran clears his throat and then continues. Duran: “You see, Randy answered that door. Because of that, he not only became a talented collegiate wrestler, but he was one hell of a professional wrestler. Randy was destined to have a great future. When that opportunity came knocking for me, however, I never answered the door. I knew that I was as good as Randy, but I never took advantage of my opportunities. I wasn’t focused at that time, and I never became the popular wrestler Randy was in college. That opportunity has come knocking again, and this time, I will not pass it up. Because this is the first step on the road to greatness, and you can bet that on Crimson, I will begin the road to becoming number one by any means necessary.” Duran stands up, his eyes still locked straight ahead. Duran: “To my opponents, and even my partner, Terry Wayne, I give you this warning: Do not get in my way. And do you know why you shouldn’t get in my way?” Duran tenses his arm up and shows the bulging veins to the camera. Duran: “DO YOU SEE THESE VEINS? Blood does not flow through these veins. Right now, only anger and hate flows freely through them. (lowers arm) However, one other element can be introduced. That element is the element of satisfaction. I can only become satisfied, however, when I have destroyed everyone in my path. Don’t be fooled. Just because blood does not flow through my veins like it does for everyone else, it does not mean that my taste for blood is non-existent. If push comes to shove, I will make my opponents bleed, no matter whom the opponents may be. Whether it is a superhero, a doomsday fanatic who roams across the land, or a man who has become immune to the emotional pain of others because of a troubled childhood. Because in my eyes, there is no good, and there is no evil. I only see those that try to tread on my dreams, and those who tread on my dreams will CRUMPLE AT MY FEET. Blazenwing, Terry Wayne, and Geddion…you all have seen what I am capable of doing. I know all three of you are not scared of me, and I do not want you to be scared of me. Because it’s always much more appeasing to destroy someone when they least expect it.” Duran goes to turn away from the camera, but reconsiders… Duran: “Be prepared. My time comes on Thursday.” Duran turns his back to the camera, as the back of his shirt reveals another message in big white letters that we can barely read as the picture fades to black: “SIN TO WIN”.
