Guest Redhawk Report post Posted March 12, 2003 You know how you're listening to something on your portable CD player or Walkman, someone asks you what you're listening to, and you're like, "Uhhh, it's just a mix tape" or you change the subject? Some of mine are... Trina Cash Money Millionaires "Slave" by Britney Spears A few Lil' Bow Wow songs Most of the WWF CDs.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 12, 2003 (edited) A have so many Mandy Moore and Jessica Simpson MP3s that they have their own folder. Any other artist I like I'm not afraid to admit it (t.A.T.u., Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch, etc.). EDIT: Also, Britney Spear's first CD was off the hook. As was N'Sync's No Strings Attatched. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Most of the music I like a lot I go out and buy...but lately I've been Kaazaing more stuff. Michelle Branch, Vanessa Carlton...and Mandy Moore, sue me! (I like the hell out of "Cry" by Mandy, although I'm a guy so I can't admit it)
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted March 12, 2003 (I like the hell out of "Cry" by Mandy, although I'm a guy so I can't admit it) Dude. I'm listening to that, right now. Although, "Walk Me Home" barely beats it. I also have downloaded both Michelle Branch's, Vanessa Carlton's, and Norah Jones' CDs.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I really like Christina Aguilera's song 'Beautiful', why? I have no fuckin' clue. I also dig all of Britney Spear's stuff, however that is truly quality pop music, and i don't see too much shame in admitting she's talented enough to pull it off, even though she doesn't write any of the music, as far as i know. She still has nothin' on MJ though. UYI
Guest Will Scarlet Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I do not have that many guilty pleasures either. Heck, I will gladly admit to listen to anything I like no matter how socially unacceptable it may be. About the closest thing to a guilty pleasure I have would be Ricky Martin. Oh yeah, and I also like Mandy Moore. I own two of her CD's, one that I was able to get for free, which was cool. Definitely solid stuff that I can listen to without skipping much, so it gets my approval.
Guest notJames Report post Posted March 12, 2003 When I'm driving around with my 19-month old son Owen, I hate having to pull up to a drive-in window or gas station because more often than not, we're listening to a kiddie song CD, like Sesame Street or Fisher Price. Although, I did pick up a They Might Be Giants kiddie CD titled No! which is pretty cool. Other than that, I have no problem telling people I listen to Hanson. And as long as I forget how stupid she is when she proclaims that she's punk when she's clearly not, I can listen to Avril Lavigne. Mostly because Owen likes her videos. Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 12, 2003 And as long as I forget how stupid she is when she proclaims that she's punk when she's clearly not, I can listen to Avril Lavigne. Mostly because Owen likes her videos. Has she ever came out and said "I'm so punk." Everything has to have a lable now, so that's what they stuck her with...Lord forbid you call something "rock" these days. I'm not an Av hater or supporter, but she gets such a backlash for trying to do her job.
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Im sure the billons she'd be earning would more than compensate for the criticisim. If she's half as independant as she claims to be, then she should have no worries laughing her way to the bank while ignoring what others, who have nothing better to do than talk about someone else, hack away at what she does and how she should be doing it. The world sucks. Fuck you all. UYI - A nice guy, really.
Guest Banky Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Blink 182. I like them. Travis rules all at drumming. Mark can be funny. Tom is an annoying bitch. Fuck him. They do concoct good thoughtless fun.
Guest DrTom Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Oasis. No, I don't know why I like them, either.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Blink 182. I like them. Travis rules all at drumming. Mark can be funny. Tom is an annoying bitch. Fuck him. They do concoct good thoughtless fun. I use to be into them...I loved Buddah and Dude Ranch, I liked Enema a lot...but their last album just wasn't very good. And Tom saying "I think this is out punkiest album yet" was just a huge lie. I'll still give them a chance though.
Guest spiny norman Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Dr. Tom, I don't see what's wrong with Oasis? I really readily admit to everything, except Tina Turner and Phil Collins. Plus I like Crunchy Granola by Neil Diamond. Come on, it has a cool riff!
Guest Respect The 'Taker Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I don't see whats wrong with Oasis either, nothin' delivers the wall of sound Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory do. Wicked albums. UYI

Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I can't think of the name of the song right now, but that Donnas song that is always on the radio I like. Some of Pink's songs I don't mind. There are a few Boy bands and Britney songs that make me tap my foot when I hear them. And this one probably isn't a shocker because I defend them enough, but I like recent Aerosmith. "Nine Lives" is a kickass album, and even though "Just Push Play" is weak and is a ProTools Album, there are about 4-5 songs on the CD I really like. I even own a few 80's Hair Band "Monster Balled" CD's. Oh, and Bon Jovi isn't that bad and Kid Rock is underrated.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I own all three Hootie and the Blowfish CDs. First one was really good, second was decent, third had one good song, the rest sucked.
Guest Spaceman Spiff Report post Posted March 12, 2003 1980's Madonna. I don't have any of her CD's, but if a song is on while I'm flipping around the radio, I'm listening.
Guest Anorak Report post Posted March 12, 2003 The Beautiful South's greatest hits album 'Carry On Up The Charts' (sold shitloads in the UK in the mid 90's) for me because they're a really unhip type of band nobody under the age of 25 would readily admit to listening to. Guest swan Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Is it a guilty pleasure when it's a mainstream top 40 corporate radio hit like most of you are listing? Anyways Neil "freakin'" Diamond. "Cracklin' Rose" owns you all. Looks out of place with my Cradle of Filth, Carcass, and Naplam Death records, LOL.
Guest starvenger Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I don't see why you should be embarassed about any music that you like...
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I've pretty much found out that my main guilty pleasure in music is POD..with their Christian rock-rap junk, where they indirectly mention God in every song.
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Nothing wrong with liking Michelle Branch. She is the best pop star out today. And I guess, 12 Stones and Justin Timberlake are guilty pleasures.
Guest LooseCannon Report post Posted March 12, 2003 Oasis. No, I don't know why I like them, either. I don't know why more people don't like Oasis. I think people who say they don't like them just refuse to allow themselves to enjoy it. At least as far as Definitely Maybe and Morning Glory go. I really like Christina Aguilera's song 'Beautiful', why? I have no fuckin' clue. I kinda like this song too. It's definitely in the guilty pleasure department. But I think her voice sounds really good on this song, and it kinda hit me by surprise.
Guest papacita Report post Posted March 12, 2003 "Dirrty" by Christina and "Hit me baby one more time" by Britney. "Take you home" by Lil' Bow Wow "Down with the Sickness" by Disturbed (right up until that annoying ass part in the middle) I also like that "Cry" song by Mandy Moore... Guest Banky Report post Posted March 12, 2003 I also enjoy Oasis. I actually enjoyed the latest Blink cd the best. I don't listen to them because their punk, so any label slapped on them/their album is meaningless to me.
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Culture Club/Boy George and John Denver Nothing wrong with them IMO but a few of my friends seem to think it's weird.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted March 13, 2003 I kinda like that Beautiful song. I also dig that "I want it that way" by the Backside Boys. I also bought Avril Lavign's album. And bought Norah Jones album as well, which ended up being one of my favorite albums of last year. And Niel Diamond rocks... he puts on great live show.
