Hey, that's cool. I've always been partial to '66 Mustangs myself, so I know how you feel. I just think $26,000 is too much damn money to pay for a car of any kind. The only question you have to ask yourself is: do you think you would be happy with any other car, or is this Trans Am the one that you really, really want? Sometimes that's more important. I also dig the 60 model Mustangs, I find the new one's worth of a kick in balls...the old mustangs rule the school. My second favorite old car next the Trans-Am. Guest The Camel Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Dude, that's way, way to much for a 2nd gen T/A, specially not a 79 (if, for any reason, it says "turbo", run away, far away). I don't care how few miles or how nice it is. For that money you could pick up an '02 SS, Ram Air T/A, or a Firehawk, which for some reason are harder to find than an SS even though they're both SLP tuned cars... Guest WukenBloodstar Report post Posted March 13, 2003 Yeah, runs pretty damn good to other late 70's TA's I've driven. I live in Houston, last car was a 94 Sunbird, I hated that piece of shit. As far as Insurance goes, I'm under my fathers for the moment (19, 20 on the 26th) My purpose? I need a new car and for the longest time I'd have my eye set on a late 70's, or 2000-02 model Trans-am. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 13, 2003 One big problem with the Trans Am. If it's a true collectors car with documented low mileage you shouldn't be using it as an everyday driver. If you want a 79 TA for everyday driving, you should find a common model, buy it for 1/4th the price and then spend what you saved fixing it up.
