TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Here are my top 5: 1. April 21, 1997. First it features an Austin/Bret street fighti n which Austin MURDERS Bret's knee and legit nearly breaks hi wrist. Then in the ambulance Austin again attacks Bret. And then later Owen and Bulldog jump Austin but get chased off by HBK. And just when we think Austin is safe...Brian f'n Pillman makes his return and destroys Austin. IMO best Raw ever. 2. September 28, 1998. It starts off with Austin driving a Zamboni into the arena and jumping Vince and ends with one of the most original booked matches Russo's ever done with Rock, Shamrock and Mankind(who had fought in a triple threat cage match the ngiht before) facing Taker and Kane. In between Taker and broke Vince's leg and Mick Foley had his very first "comedy" moment by offering Vince a sip of his slurpee. 3. September 22, 1997. Why you ask? Austin stuns Vince for the first time, Foley and HHH have a classic No Holds Barred war and the HOT MSG crowd makes it feel even more special than it is. 4. May 17, 1993. It features a classic HBK/Jannety match and what, to this day, is the biggest upset in wrestling history as the no name Kid pinned Razor Ramon. 5. Arpil 28, 1997. It start with Pillman, Owen & Bulldog 'praying' for Bret Hart and Steve Austin. It has Owen winning the intercontinental title in a good match against Rocky. And ends with the shock return of Jim Neidhart and Bret tossing Austin off the stage. Those are IMO the 5 best ever. BTW I do not, and never will, consider Raw Is Owen to be a nominee for this.
Guest Vern Gagne Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 The Ambulance Episode The 10 man tag match from 2000.
Guest RedJed Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 I thought the Raw where Vince v. Austin was going to happen but they did the bait and switch with Foley at the end was pretty all around good, probably one of my favs ever. The Raw that saw ECW return and join up with WCW in Atlanta is right up there too.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 ::points to Wrestling Polls and Lists folder:: 5.21.01 is my favourite
Guest bravesfan Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 September 28, 1998 and February 7, 2000 (with the Dallas 10-man tag) are my two favorites.
Guest treble charged Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 February 7, 2000 (10 man tag from Dallas) probably ranks right up there. I missed the first 20 minutes, saw a replay of the Radicalz beating up Cactus Jack and was shocked.
Guest papacita Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 My favorites, in no order: 1. The 4/21/97 Raw with Austin/Hart/Pillman and Mankind attacking Taker with the blowtorch. 2. 5/17/93 "Night of Upsets" 3. 8/24/98 Raw where Taker and Kane first get together, Kane faces Mankind in a HIAC and HBK saves Chyna from the Nation...probably my all-time fav if I had to choose, in part because I was there. 4. The first Raw in MSG was hot (9/22/97) 5. Whichever Raw it was that ECW joined the Invasion.
Guest RedJed Posted March 12, 2003 Report Posted March 12, 2003 Totally forgot about another one........the Raw where they had Pillman live at his home waiting for Austin with a gun. I loved those Raws that they did with live feeds in terms of angles outside of the arena and then they would cut back to the pre-taped stuff in the arena. Made the shows still unpredictable even if you knew the results from the Raw tapings.

Guest Steviekick Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 It's kind of hard to pick out an episode as a whole, especially since they always have segments that range from bad to excellent. I'd have to say my most memorables would be when Austin came to Pillman's house, when Jim Neidhart returned and he and Bret Hart through Austin off the Titan Tron stage, the night Austin/Dude Love one the tat titles, the announcement of the WCW purchase, the original ECW invasion, and when ECW reformed during the Invasion.
Guest Zero_Cool Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I loved it when Tommy Dreamer and RVD made that run-in and ECW was reformed. If we had had ECW stick around as it's own entity, maybe I would've considered it as the best show ever..but those good for nothing McMahon kids had to step in and mess everything up! Raw is Ambulance gets my vote. Austin had Bret in the Sharpshooter for ten minutes...and the crowd didn't really quiet down. Also, him attacking The Hitman in the ambulance is just classic.
Guest MaxPower27 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 4-21-97: Except for a few matches, the show OWNED. I wish I could get a copy of it. ANYONE????
Guest Brian Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 I have all the RAWs from late '96 to late '97.

Guest converge241 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 the Bret- Austin ambulance is probably my number one number two the raw from MSG with cactus- HHH number three - a couple weeks before WM 13 at worcester Centrum the first ever Raw Is War with the titantron and all .. not really a gret show per se (had the WWF- ECW debate though) but a nice dark match Sid- Bret in a cage (that was a warm up to the next weeks Raw) and extra special becuase i was there live
Guest NoSelfWorth Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 The best one is The Ambulance Episode. It may not be the best, but my favorite is the one where Mick Foley won the WWF Title.
Guest converge241 Posted March 13, 2003 Report Posted March 13, 2003 "It may not be the best, but my favorite is the one where Mick Foley won the WWF Title. " i have to add that as a 4th ..there live as well
