How much is gas in your area?

Recommended Posts

Guest hardyz1

Centre County PA here. The last month it held steady at $1.63, but just yesterday it went up to $1.67.

Thankfully I'm driving an '88 Ford Tempo and I only have to spend $20 a week, if that, on gas.

$1.65 out in WBL, when I bought some yesterday. Not sure the price in St. Paul, it's probably about 4 to 6 cents more.

And state pols are going to raise the gas tax by 6 cents in the upcoming years...

I've seen it from 1.55 to 1.70 in TN and GA, for the cheapest brand (87 octane).

Around here it's about 80 cents/litre, but they said on the news that out in Vancouver it's 90 cents, so the premium stuff is actually over $1.00.

Ouch.

$2.19 (unleaded) in most parts of Hawaii, but the gas tax is fixing to go up.

$1.65.9 is what I paid today at the "cheap station" in Woburn, MA.

A liter is about a half gallon, right? I don't bother with Metric shit much. And Canada's dallor is about 65 cents or so, correct?

I'm just trying to figure out what you pay in American money, not taking a cheap shot.

I believe it's .91 cents per litre up here, currently.

I might be able to tell you how that equals out in American cash, but to be quite honest, I really don't know what you buy gas in in the States. Is it by the gallon?

But yeah, last time I checked, the exchange rate was something like 45-50 cents on the Dollar.

I think it is about 0.4 gallons, but I'm not certain.

Since the Seneca reservation is a few miles away from me, I can actually get gas for $1.39/gallon if I want. It's tax free.

Wonderful, eh?

:D

It seems like everything is more expensive in Hawaii.

Over the past two weeks I have seen prices in different parts of Minnesota at $1.61, $1.65, $1.69, $1.78. So it can really vary.

I put the premium grade in, and it tends to be $1.73-$1.89 around here, with most stations under $1.80. Since the two $1.73 stations are only a few blocks away, I always fill up there.

Well, if there's about 4 L per Gallon, then that means gas is looking like $3.60 CDN (Roughly), plus the exchange rate of roughly 50%, means we're paying somewhere in the range of like, $1.80 American.

So all things considered, we're pretty even, I think.

I'd say about 1.58 per gallon or so here in Dallas. Only a couple of years ago, it was like 1.10.

Right now, in central Kentucky, we've topped out at about $1.68. I drive a 2000 Escort coupe, so I don't have that much to worry about... but I long for the days of $.98 on the gallon.

Uh-oh -- this came up on Drudge...

http://www.drudgereport.com/flash1.htm

House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee leaders said Wednesday they may push for as much as a 20-cent-a-gallon increase in the federal gasoline tax over the next six years.

That is more than double the proposed 8.1-cent increase included in a plan they circulated just last week, CONGRESSIONAL QUARTERLY reports.

Chairman Don Young said "the tax increase will probably be included when the committee drafts a surface transportation bill later this spring. That would push the current 18.4-cent federal gas tax to more than 30 cents a gallon by 2009.

Here in Sacramento, CA, the last time I got gas it was $1.99. I drive a Saturn, so the only positive is that for "normal" driving, I only need to get gas once a week.

Good. I hope they do raise gas twenty cents. Anything to drive a spike into gas guzzlings's heart.
