I might be able to tell you how that equals out in American cash, but to be quite honest, I really don't know what you buy gas in in the States. Is it by the gallon? That is more than double the proposed 8.1-cent increase included in a plan they circulated just last week, CONGRESSIONAL QUARTERLY reports. Chairman Don Young said "the tax increase will probably be included when the committee drafts a surface transportation bill later this spring.
