Guest Crazy Dan Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 (edited) I just paid $2.11 for the lowest grade unleaded. So the highest is 2.31. This is what it is like all over in the Bay Area, which I heard has the highest prices any where in the USA. With prices like this, why aren't we developing more hybrids and improving our gas mileage on all our cars? Edited March 14, 2003 by Crazy Dan

With prices like this, why aren't we developing more hypbrids and improving our gas mileage on all our cars? mainly because the auto industry doesn't care. As long as they make their huge profits, they can afford any price for gas. The people, themselves need to stop buying SUVS that are gaz guzzling, disasters-on-wheels(just my opinion)
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 "Good. I hope they do raise gas twenty cents. Anything to drive a spike into gas guzzlings's heart." You know, I must admit that I get a little chuckle when filling up my Corsica at the station and seeing some soccer mom pay through the nose in order to fill up her SUV...
Guest Plushy Al Logan Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 After reading this entire topic, I have only one thing to say, STAY THE FUCK AWAY FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA!!!! I envy all of you.
Guest SP-1 Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 1.59 I pay 1.79 coz I run Premium. If I don't my truck gets carbon built up and chokes. Meh.
Guest Brian Posted March 14, 2003 Report Posted March 14, 2003 In Washington, they're working on an initiative where people who drive cars that get less than 18 or 20 MPG gets a luxry tax of like $2000.
Guest EricMM Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Good that should be a national thing. Of course no president who initiated THAT would ever, ever get anywhere. Bush panders to SUV drivers, but so did Clinton. Soccor moms vote I guess. And they like to drive high on the road or some shit. And they're total ecological numbskulls. Sigh.
Guest Markme123 Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I live in San Jose and prices range from 2.05 to 2.25 a gallon.
Guest EricMM Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Doesn't that make you want to buy a nice hybrid car?
Guest Ozymandias Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Well, last Friday it cost me a possible night of sex. *rimshot* Thank you! I'm here through Sunday....
