But what are some other wrestler's records to compare?

Who else you'd like to know? Just as a comparrison, although I haven't done a break down of clean wins and losses like I did with HHH, Kurt Angle 17-17-4 in the past year in singles and Chris Jericho is 14-17-2.

Rock, Austin, Undertaker and maybe Hogan would be probably be interesting like HHH's.

So HHH has not lost a match clean that was a straight 1-on-1 match with no gimmicks, no stipulations, no interference in the past year.

So hhh's last clean loss was at the October '96 "Buried Alive" ppv?

He lost Summerslam 97 clean, but that was cage-riffic. Just PPV-wise, his last clean loss (No gimmick) might have been the final four PPV vs. Rocky.

Well technically speaking his match with Undertaker Wrestlemania X-7 would be considered a non-stipulation match and he lost clean but a lot of that match took place outside of the ring and pretty much turned into a street fight/no-DQ match.

Hogan has won like 5 matches. Rock was in like 5.

And did anyone else notice that OMG HE'S BEING PUSHED OMG~! Kurt Angle is floundering around .500?

One thing to remember heels almost always lose more than faces and that's why I used Angle & Jericho as examples. To be fair, and this might surprise some people, Rob Van Dam is 29-14-1 over the past year but again he is a face and he is 0-3 against HHH in singles. But since you asked and these again are straight up wins and losses in singles matches: Rock is 8-2-1, Austin is 5-1, Undertaker is 16-6-3, and Hogan is 5-5.

Hogan, Austin and Rock all missed at least six months.

But hey, Taker won more than he lost. I wonder if that is standard practice for main eventers?

Angle's record was much worse at one point but his push as champ has helped a lot as he is 8-1-1 over his last 10 matches. I didn't count the first "match" with Brock where Heyman whacked him with a chair 5 seconds in.

Well again faces win out more than heels typically but funny thing about Undertaker during the early part of the last year when he was a heel he was 10-1-1 at one point but as a face he's only 6-5-3 but part of that probably because when he was the champ he was heel.

Yeah I was somewhat aware of that. I noticed he went from KoTR to Summerslam with something like two wins. And the fall wasn't nice to him either.

Angle was pinned in the Vengeance triple threat. That's how Undertaker's title reign ended. With someone else jobbing.

Angle didn't win either Bob Holly match clean.

Of course, it's the same way he lost the first Benoit match, so however you want to figure that.

He also lost clean to Rey the same night he was DQed with Cena

Ugh. You HAD to bring up the Mark Henry match, didn't you.

That Mark Henry match didn't leave me happy.

June 6 Smackdown vs. Hardcore Holly, wins clean

June 15 Velocity vs. Hardcore Holly, wins clean

And weren't those the ones where Angle had to use the ropes for the pin?

Bob "SPARK PLUG" Holly wouldn't even tap out to the Ankle Lock.

SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP! I had just about gotten this ot of my head.

And want to know the worst part? Angle did all that so they could put Test over Holly clean.

Oh, but the point was to create a spectacular match. The original plan was to have Angle vs. HOLLY at King of the Ring, and he would win by making Angle tap to his own Ankle Lock.

But the plan changed, unfortunately :D

Angle was pinned in the Vengeance triple threat. That's how Undertaker's title reign ended. With someone else jobbing.

No I did count the triple threat loss at Vengeance in the clean losses but he had two other triple threat matches on Smackdown this past year where he didn't win but wasn't pinned.

I counted them as clean wins because using the ropes or tights is perfectly acceptable heel wrestling.

The Rey loss came in a 6-man tag match.

I'd just like to backtrack a little and say maybe, well..HHH has been champion for quite some time now as we all know, and um the champ usually wins a lot otherwise they aren't the champ anymore, correct?

so the W-L record shouldn't even generate that much controversy or anger, except that well it's HHH and we're suppose to hate him. I find it easier to just ignore him.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

The whole point of the winning heel is to put over the top face. In 99/00 HHH was the winning heel and he never put over the top face. He didn't put over Jericho. Hell, he didn't put over Angle.

winning or losing doesn't really mean that much in wrestling though, when you think about it.

it's more about how a feud is done and how it gets over with an audience, isn't it? Then who gets the final blowoff win in the feud is the person that profits from it. That's what makes HHH who he is, but not the win-loss record.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

...And NO ONE gets the best of HHH.

Guest Vitamin X

well yeah, that too.

except for Rock and Austin. And occassionally Taker.

Guest RavishingRickRudo

Austin never got the best of HHH. Rock still gets buried by HHH on the mic whenever possible - and HHH destroying Jericho doesn't really help matters after Rock lost to him half a dozen times.

Taker does though... but HHH just no sells it.

Angle-Plex forgot to mention the whole point of the post on 1wrestling. Dave was comparing the difference between Booker T's record and Triple-Juice's.

I can't find the rest of the report at 1wrestling, but it basically said that Booker T has had more matches than Juice, but less TV time.
