Flair/heyman conspiracy theories

Recommended Posts

Guest Risk

A lot of us here at thesmarks.com have conspiracy theories.  As Justin Spike-O I never revealed much of my theories or lack there of.  Time to change that.  Once you finish with this, read my new quote for a basis of one of the reasons I feel this way.  Now...on to the theory.

Back, years ago, when Flair was NWA all the way, he showed his disapproval of the WWF.  When Vince McMahon bought WCW, he made it even more clear.  Paul Heyman seemed to use Vince to help ECW, I never got the thought he actually liked Vince.  Heyman and Flair were both big successes in WCW, Flair more, but Heyman was still.

Anyways, I believe Choken One had the idea that Flair is gaining loyalty from "the boys inthe back".  If so, Flair might not like the WWF so much.  Not to say he doesn't like the stars, he may just dislike the managment aka The McMahons and the Yes Men to the McMamons.

It is hard to believe Flair would stay in a place that has more storylines than wrestling FOR LONG.  Although people may say things about Heyman, he does like tradition, the hardcore part tradition, but tradition none the less.

What if these two banded together with WWF wrestlers and had a conspiracy going?  Think about it...Flair could buy the NWA name and declare himself the LAST champion and hods tourneys for the vacant belts.  Flair, Heyman, Foley, Arn, Austin, maybe even Jericho.

Could a new NWA happen?  Unlikely but...anything can happen.

It's a nice dream but I think Flair and Heyman have had legit heat with each other in the past. It would probably result in a Flair-dusty like tug of war.

I'm sure Flair has MORE hidden heat with McMahon than with Heyman.  But hey...lets just think...what if it did happen?  Wow, that would be so great.

It would be very cool. And Vince might have to put some thought into his product instead of the cruise control the WWF has been under ever since WCW folded.

Do they have enough money to get it done?  But more importantly, can they get a TV deal?

Both of these could be solved if they could get Ted Turner involved.

If Ted saw it as a way to 1-up Vince, I'm sure he'd be interested.

Either way, you would need financial backing and a TV deal before Vince would even give 2 shits about it, regardless of who is involved.  Granted, you would have the star power that most new feds lack, so that would give you an advantage, but without the $$$ and a TV-deal you're dead in the water.

I know Flair and Turner are friends so I don't doubt a possible chance for a reunion there, but Heyman was not a part of my idea but I know he'd rather work with Flair using Old School tradition. Turner can loan him some money to pay off the ECW DEBTS and perhaps even buy back ECW (WWF never brought it) and bring in Jeff Jarrett and Bret Hart(Occasional Apperence) and try to reel in Randy Savage (Reconizgance) and the younger OVW/HWA guys and some Intl. Flavor.

Turner wants wrestling. He already tried to buy 51% of the XWF, if the rumors were true. Aren't Turner & Flair friends? I remember seeing an old magazine cover with Flair & Turner together. I think Ted likes the old school wrestling. Just simple storylines.

Don't forget, Turner still owns NWA Footage crica 80's...so that could appeal to flair and Heyman.

Don't think Vince doesn't think this ESPECIALLY with Heyman. Why do you think he has a MCMAHON as the head writer and over seer? I still don't think Flair and Heyman know the true guts and insides of the wwf structure. Flair on Off the Record said himself that it would take at least 2 years for a company to just get off the ground and at least 5 years to grow a brand recognition. Even then it would be hard. Flair says he has like 2 or 3 years max doing this. Heyman is known for doing the UT/Flair segments. Why not the world title or the Hogan/Rock segments? The wwf won't let him touch the uppercard because it would have his fingerprints and condition fans. Okay this part is just conspiracy theories on my part because I can't understand why a person who structures such a strong angle doesn't do the main event storylines(maybe he does I don't know).

Lets say this is really happening. If Vince found out, he'll probably bury Flair and Heyman. He might do to them what he did to Dusty. Remember that?

What did Vince do to Dusty?

Vince signed Dusty and made him wear yellow polka dots on his tights and gave him a female manager (Can't remember her name at this time), and even named Ted Dibiase's bodyguard Virgil after him. Dusty ended up getting the gimmick over.

Her name was Sapphire. *shudders*

Aren't Flair and Heyman locked in contracts? Why would they risk a steady income on something that has about a one in a million chance of succeeding?

Sapphire was Dusty's manager.  Yeah, he tried to bury him but he was still Dusty and people loved him.

EDIT:  I didn't see that post above me until after I already posted.

With ALL the Smarks watching, the Canadian fans(who have heat with Vince), the ECW fans, the WCW fans, the old NWA fans, Flair's fans, ect, they could have a good chance of succedding.  Bringing in some indy wrestlers would also help.  Turne WOULDN'T even have to own it, he could pour money into it and have SOME stock, but with Heyman and Flair with most control it would be great.

The WWF is the place to be in wrestling right now so for anyone who has job security with them quits is a true dumbass.  What wrestling needs it someone with a ton of money to start a new fed.  Bill Gates?  Then he can purchase the big names, get TV and PPV deals and then the WWF has competition.  Until some billionaire wrestling fan decides to join Vince then there is no real competition.  You need to be on TV and PPV and you need to have big name talents.  Or the fed turns into something like MECW, or the XWF.

As much as it would be a VERY welcome change right now, i just can't see anything usurping the wwf. austin could be an important factor were it to happen tho, seeing as he dosen't seem to want anything to do with hall n nash. Can you blame him?

Austin could very well be the WWF's downfall.  Remember, fans started watching the WWF because Austin was there, not because it was the WWF.  It would be cool to have a REAL defection, it would seem like the Alliance.

This post really caught my attention.  I currently write a fantasy booking series, the Allied Wrestling Enterprise, on book.otherarena.com.  The whole basis for my series is extremely similar to this post.

In the series, the reasons for the formation of the company was that the WWF locker room was extremely unhappy with the impending NWO debut.  Locker room leaders such as The Undertaker, as well as up and comers/current stars like Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam were all against it, feeling that they would disrupt WWF morale, much like they did in WCW.

The group of wrestlers formed a union, and stood up to Vince McMahon, forcing an ultimatum...forget the NWO, or give us all our releases.  McMahon, being the thickheaded SOB that he is, released his unhappy talent, and simply added more former stars and developmental talent to his roster.

The "union" took on Ric Flair as their "spokesman", and Flair worked out a deal with Ted Turner to have wrestling return to the Turner networks.

Now, imagine in real life, if a wrestling union was finally formed.  McMahon's reaction to those unhappy or to those who threaten his locker room is usually a nice fat release with a no compete clause.  But if enough wrestlers were unhappy (as supposedly is the case) and threatened the WWF with a sitout strike/walkout/whatever, do you really think he'd want to continue to pay talent that isn't working?

Heyman would definetly have the ear of the ECW contingency, while Flair has the respect of virtually everyone, and longtime friends such as Arn Anderson and Chris Benoit would be sure to follow his lead, as well as most of the former WCW stars.

The only major names I could see staying with McMahon should something like this ever happen would be NWO (the reason for all this), Triple H (one guess why), The Rock (he'd still have a top spot, and mainstream exposure, why risk it) and MAYBE Kurt Angle, since he's one of a few "homegrown" stars.  I honestly couldn't even see Undertaker staying.  Though he'd risk losing the gimmick (pretty sure the WWF and not he himself owns it), he's one guy who doesn't take any crap, whether it's in or out of the ring.

If the WWF continues to go on the downward spiral (and any major title match involving STEPHANIE MCMAHON is usually a bad sign!), then I could honestly see this scenario played out.  I understand that there are egos in this business, and you can't keep everyone happy, but when the bad outnumbers the good, someone is doing something wrong.

Paul Heyman and Ric Flair, while they may have had heat before, have a passion for this business unlike any other.  Heyman has one of the most creative minds the business has ever seen, and can turn a lump of coal into a diamond, as he has worked with the bare minimum and still came out with an entertaining product.  Flair's passion need not be repeated, as the years and heart put into this business showcase how he feels.  What a legacy Flair would leave if he were known not only as a multi time World Champion, but as the man who helped revolutionize the industry once again, and passed the torch to the next generation.

If the draft doesn't solve some of the WWF woes, then I'll be watching when Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho compete in an Iron Man match to become the champion of "NWA 2K2".

Sounds good, Zach.  Being the topic starter of this thread, I'll be sure to give it a look.  I really love fantasy booking...if only people would have a list of fantasy booking links...

I have a suggestion Zack.  I suggest not carrying on feuds from the WWF.  I do, however, suggest only mentioning ECW, NWA, and WCW(everything before 93)  My im is TheRisk17, it is aim, so get it and we can talk.  I like your writing style, by the way.  Very great match descriptions, especally Liger vs. Christian Cage(I liked the Cage name he had in the indies)

Also, most of the stars could not use their WWF owned names.

I think Rhyno should be Rhino.

Tazz should be Taz.

I would also suggest keeping some stars out of your booking, saying that they are still with the WWF.  Anyways, good luck and contact me soon.  Later.

Also, if you want to be realistic, the songs would be copywrited by the WWFE and couldn't be used.  I suggest using real themes.  Maybe make some new names for people like Edge, maybe calling William Steven, ect.  Anyways, good luck, later.
