Guest Banky Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Anyone else a fan? Forget his greatness? Rent his movies today. Forget the fact he has turning into a fat blad crackhead with bad timing, and enjoy the legend of CHEVY!!
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted March 14, 2003 His Friar's Club Roast ruled. Could've done without the Beverly D'Angelo song. I could never get into National Lampoon's Vacation because they played it seemingly ALL THE DAMN TIME for a period a few years ago. My favorite is Funny Farm, personally. I've never seen any of the Fletch movies... (ducks flying objects)
Guest Angle-plex Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Fletch is the only Chase movie I have on DVD. I like Vacation and Caddyshack though.
Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Shit, I forgot Caddyshack! Caddyshack and Funny Farm then.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Really, is there any better film than "Cops and Robersons?"... Oh that Jack Palance, will he ever learn?
Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I love Chevy Chase. The guy did Dirty Work for free so he's cool with me
Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted March 14, 2003 I'm a big fan of Chevy's old work. He was very good Caddyshack, Fletch, Vacation, and many others. He seems to be really full of himself these days though.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Was Chevy in Spys Like Us? The only good movies by Chevy were done in the 80s. The classics of Fletch, Vacation, along with Caddieshack was Chevy at his best. But out of the SNL stars of the 80s who became movie stars I prefer Bill Murry and Eddie Murphy over Chevy. To me Chevy is in the middle of the group with Bill at the top with Martain Short being the worst.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Report post Posted March 14, 2003 Spies Like Us was Chase and Aykroyd and was pretty much the start of the downhill slide for both of them. Although, Chase had two great films after that with Christmas Vacation and Three Amigos. Chevy had a certain aloof and cocky aire about him, but now he just seems dautering. His two films with Goldie Hawn, Foul Play and Seems Like Old Times, are underrated, as is Under the Rainbow. I hated Funny Farm, I just found it trying too hard to be funny and cliched. Guest Banky Report post Posted March 15, 2003 Chevy is GOD! Reprzent.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 15, 2003 Under the Rainbow was the one where Chevy is the hotel manager for the cast of Wizard of Oz with all of the Munchkins running around. Average at best.
Guest MaxPower27 Report post Posted March 15, 2003 I haven't seen Fletch in a LONG time. Favorites: Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Caddyshack, Fletch. Cops and Robbersons was OK. I fell asleep during the last half hour.
Guest teke184 Report post Posted March 15, 2003 My favorite Chase movies are Fletch, Fletch Lives, Caddyshack, and Vacation. The worst was probably European Vacation or Nothing But Trouble, although I've missed out on some of the true crap.
Guest Steve J. Rogers Report post Posted March 15, 2003 Chase was the original SNL "star" Thats the bottom line! "I'm Chevy Chase...any you're not!" (stumbles and does a nifty bump) "LIVE FROM NEW YORK ITS SATURDAY NIGHT!" "Candy gram...No ma'am, I'm just a dolphin" "Spanish dictator Franco is STILL DEAD!" Ahh too many classic quotes to mention Steve
Guest McLeary Report post Posted March 15, 2003 I think he's pretty goddamn funny when he's in dry-humor mode, but in Live From New York by Tom Shales, the consensus opinion amongst nearly all the cast members interviewed was that the guy is an incredible asshole. Terry Sweeney:" He said to me,'so, you're the fag. You should get AIDS and then each week we can weigh you." Which is actually pretty funny, in an "I-can't-believe-someone-could-be-a-big-enough-prick-to-say-something-like-that" kind of way. So I suppose that means I like Chevy too "I'm wearing underwear made out of bubblewrap, I get aroused when my dog goes to the bathroom, and I'm in love with a fat Hawaiian man who knows karate." Guest Banky Report post Posted March 15, 2003 European Vacation rules the school man, besides his fat daughter. Regardless, Chevy has never made a bad movie. Go Snow Day.
Guest Luke Cage Report post Posted March 16, 2003 Chevy was at his funniest (to me) when he hosted his own talk show in the early 90's. One of the most entertaining pop culture train wrecks ever.
