That isn't proof. By that time almost everybody in America (yourself included) was convinced he was guilty anyway. So it ain't like he had anything to lose by taking credit for it. I mean, was someone gonna stand up and complain he was taking credit for it because THEY were responsible? The center of the symbol of the most advanced nation on Earth is only accessable to us by a clumsy spiral staircase that screams "DEATH!". That was just too cool.
