Ozzy 'confirms' Newsted joins the Summer Tour

Ozzy confirms rotating bassist mystery

 

After much speculation and commentary from both sides, Ozzy Osbourne announced during last night's one-off gig at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada that former Metallica and current Voivod bassist Jason Newsted would be joining the group as its new touring bassist. The Hard Rock concert marked the final performance with Osbourne of longtime member Robert Trujillo, who was selected to fill the slot in Metallica left vacant by Newsted's departure two years ago.

 

While signs were pointing in that direction earlier, now, with all precincts reporting in, the bassist trade between the two industry heavyweights seems to be finally complete.
