Guest gansobomber Report post Posted March 16, 2003 I've searched over the internet, but can't seem to get any kind of reference to this match. Does any one know when this match took place and how good it was?
Guest wolverine Report post Posted March 16, 2003 It took place on 2/17/00 (it's on the Excite Series 2000 comm). I actually haven't watched that match in 2 years, but I remembered it being good, but not quite as good as it had the potential to be. That was something of a cursed match in AJ, because it was supposed to headline the 3/6/99 Budokan, but Kawada broke his arm during the Misawa TC match in January. Then they wanted to headline the 9/4/99 Budokan with it, but Kawada injured his eye that summer, so that delayed it a second time. When it finally happened, it had something of a major let down feel to it.
Guest Jubuki Report post Posted March 16, 2003 Too short to be much of anything. It's OK for 5 years past his prime Vader and on-the-downhill side Kawada.

Guest Evil Ash Report post Posted March 16, 2003 I loved the match, but that's because it was Vader and Kawada. The actual work was good, but nothing special. You don't need to go out of your way to see it, but it's definitely a fun watch.
Guest Black Tiger Report post Posted March 16, 2003 The match is pretty good, but it leaves a little something to be desired. Considering who it was in the match, I had very high expectations for it. But the match is pretty good, and very stiff.
Guest gansobomber Report post Posted March 17, 2003 STIFF makes me happy...
Guest wolverine Report post Posted March 17, 2003 If that's the case, you want to see Hansen/Kawada 2/28/93. There's this one spot where Stan kicks Kawada so fucking hard, that it almost echoes throughout the building, with the fans letting out a collective "ooooooh." I can't help but wonder if Tosh still has a boot mark on his back because of that. That shit is unbelievable. Flair has never had a better match as far I can tell. But then again, I'm not exactly Flair Fan, so....
Guest Evil Ash Report post Posted March 17, 2003 AJ TV from 93 tends to live up to its hype. Even the bad matches are good (for the wrong reasons, but still.) I love that Hansen/Kawada match. What a couple of hardcore motherfuckers (in the non-pornographic sense.)
