Guest EQ Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I've read that Joss wants to spinoff another show once Buffy ends. We know that Eliza is already committed to another show, so that means that Faith: The Vampire Slayer won't be happening (I am skeptical as to whether or not her character can carry her own series anyway). What would you do in Joss' position? What would you do with a spinoff and/or who would you move to Angel (assuming that Angel isn't going anywhere at the end of this season)?
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Let it die. Just let it die. The only tow characters the fans like enough for a successful spin-off are Spike and Willow anyway. LET IT FUCKING DIE.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Anyone but Dawn and I'll watch.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Well, with already having one vampire with a soul on a quest for redemption....I don't really wanna see a Spike spinoff. Giles or Willow would be the 2 best choices but I'm more in agreement with 'Let it die'. Let it's legacy stand on it's own.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I could stand for just one or two more years of a spinoff type deal...nothing overly longterm, just something a little extra would be nice. I doubt they could legally use the name "The Scoobie Gang" though.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 All Giles, all the time. Sounds like a variety show... ...hey... Seriously, maybe a Spike and Xander show where they share an apartment. That could lead to hilarious hijinks.

Guest fazzle Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Spike could be the wacky soulfull guy, and Xander could be the wacky... No, wait, you always need a straight man. So, once again, we're back to Giles.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Giles would be the Mr Furley landlord downstairs
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Giles would be the Mr Furley landlord downstairs THat would be great...watching Xander and Spike trying to hold jobs but they keep getting fired after Spike attacks someone. And Giles is constantly asking for the rent while they hide from him.
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Willie the Snitch in a bar....where everybody knows your name...
Guest LaParkaMarka Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 If they do spin-off, it'll might be with one of the SiT's being called up. "The Incredibly Lesbian Adventures of Willow and Kennedy", maybe?
Guest JMA Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I think Willow would be the best choice. Here's my opinion for the new Scoobies. Willow (duh) Kennedy (natch) ...that's all I have so far. I see Buffy dying (again) this season. I see Xander, Anya, Spike, and Dawn staying in Sunnydale. Willow and Kennedy would travel and never be in the same place. Amy might make a good first "big bad." While on the road they could encounter past Buffy characters (such as Oz).

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 The Place: New York City. The Cast: Xander, Andrew and Spike. The Concept: Xander has finally made it big - he has a contracting job in the big apple where he will make big money and is finally getting out of Sunnydale. Just when he is about to sit back and relax in his new downtown apartment he gets a visit from two unlikely house guests... That's right, Andrew - the lovable and hilarious homosexual and - and Spike - the english vampire with a soul. Andrew is in town because he has aspirations of fame on the broadway stages. Spike is there because there are no other guys in Sunnydale that he can talk to since the whole ‘gang’ is comprised of skirts. Xander reluctantly welcomes them in as he cannot turn away old comrades-in-arms plus he feels a lil lonely in the big city (but lord knows he won't let THEM know it ). But it's not only unwelcomed friends who follow him to New York, unwelcomed trouble does too - often compromising Xander in his new high paying job. Hilarity and hijinx ensue. The Title: Reconstructing Xander
Guest Slingshot Suplex Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 In some sick, twisted way......I kinda want plain, normal Xander to be the only one standing at the end......
Guest raptor Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I'm all for Xander getting a spin-off. Willow's character has really died for me, so I can't say the thought of a spin-off really entices me. That, and I think I hate Kennedy. I guess Anthony Stewart Head said that Joss wants to do a "Ripper" Movie for BBC, instead of a TV show. Which would be cool, I think.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 In some sick, twisted way......I kinda want plain, normal Xander to be the only one standing at the end...... Yeah, him being the only one who can't really do anything. It would be a nice closing. Then the show would end with him writing his memoirs about life on the Hellmouth and fighting with the Slayer...something like that.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I thought it was already est. that Giles will be in a spin-off where he goes from town-to-town singing in clubs by day, and fighting evil at night.

That's early on in our Buffy thread. If I get bored enough one day soon I'm going to read through that from start to finish.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 NO! YOU MUSTN'T! Many-a-man has tried to read that thread from start to finish but NONE SURVIVED! I got up to page 15 before I went completely insane... I never fully recovered.

Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Could you write a summary then?
Guest Mole Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Xander, Willow, and Spike should all have a spin-off. I don't like Andrew at all, I really hope he doesn't get a show. Faith could have a spin-off, if the Fox show fails.
Guest RavishingRickRudo Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Andrew owns you. You hate him because you want to be like him but you cannot be like him so every time you see him it is a constant reminder that you are not him. Willow doesn't have the presence to carry a show of her own.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 I think they know better not to give Andrew his own show. But I'd like to see him pop up every now and then.
Guest fazzle Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 The only way I'd like to see Andrew pop up would be if he was in a whack-a-mole machine.
Guest EQ Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 How can anyone not like Andrew? He's hilarious!
