Angel had the fortune to be optioned whilst Buffy was still going strong (ala Mork and Mindy with Happy Days) any spin-off at this point would be an exercise in futility because Buffy is creativly lacking at this point. I would've liked to see one more season, but that's clearly not in the cards. Oh and the current season proves the wtiters haven't completely lost it at all.
