Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 If anyone here follows Men's College Basketball, and is interested, I've created a group on ESPN.com to do a Tournament Pool. You know, where you fill out your brackets as you think they will play out over the next 3 weeks, and who picks the most correctly, or something like that. Test your knowledge of NCAA basketball, or just see if you can win by picking the schools that sound the coolest. Just join and have some fun or I will wreck your shit. http://games.espn.go.com/tcmen/frontpage Group Name: SWF Madness Password: smartmarks If you don't want to be perpetually referred to as a pussy by me, you'll join! Da "3-time winner of March Madness" H
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 U-V-A! U-V-A! Oh, wait...we won't even make the NIT. But we did beat MARYLAND'S RUDE ASS TWICE, BAY-BEE, and that's all that matters. Da "Thugg eats it" E
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 16, 2003 Report Posted March 16, 2003 Ugh!! Blow me!! Next year bitch!! Next Year!! Da "cries" H
Guest kelloggs Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 ...uh DU made the NIT... and Robert Battle made Sportcenters Plays of the Week... therefore we rule UVA, and Maryland sucks because they're #6... and they could have faced us if we weren't screwed out of the CAA championship by the refs... uh yeah! M. "you can't hold DU down... oh no" Francis
Guest Thoth Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 UCSB is going to do better than they did last year, mark my words.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I'm in and I own you all. Pitt Panther alumni buddy. Sorry your school sucks.
Guest Tyler McClelland Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Whoa, Frost, you're an alum? I'm a student GO PITT!!!
Guest TheBostonStrangler Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I'm in high school! I don't know where I'm going to college next year! BC got screwed out of a tournament berth! WHOOOO! And I'm in.
Guest Grand Slam Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 Well, I was right there to get stomped in the football league, and I am excited about the opportunity to tarnish my image as someone who knows something about baseball in that league, but I think I might have to sit this one out. Mostly because I know next to nothing about college hoops and would basically structure my bracket to make sure Dayton can beat both Cincinnati and Xavier at some point on their way to the Championship. So... I think I'll "ride the pine" on this one.
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted March 17, 2003 Report Posted March 17, 2003 I could see Dayton and Xavier having pretty decent runs. Graduated from Pitt in 2001 with B.A.'s in film and fiction writing. Great school, great city. I want to move back sometime soon. And the football team should be top 25 this year too.
Guest Tyler McClelland Posted March 18, 2003 Report Posted March 18, 2003 Agreed, they took (at the time) #1 Miami to their limits for sure. They were highly underrated this year.
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Pitt was very VERY good this year in both sports... they'll be in the top 25 to start out for sure. I'm shocked and appalled BC missed out. I thought they had at least a 12 seed locked up for sure... can we see other people's brackets? I want to show mine to see how much y'all are going to laugh at me -Archan
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 After the first game is played, and the brackets are locked, you'll be able to see other people's brackets. Da "still workin' out his bracket" H
Guest Grand Slam Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Alright fine... I joined... Although, I'm warning you. I suck at this...
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 19, 2003 Report Posted March 19, 2003 Well, I'm warning you...I'm great at this! Actually, there appears to be a problem with ESPN's entry system. I've tried entering my bracket about 10 times over the last 20 minutes, and it won't go through. It just keeps returning with my previous (thrown together) bracket. I hope they fix this soon...cause I got a kick ass bracket. Da "has just jinxed himself" H
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Whoa, Thugg... you picked Notre Dame to fall in the 1st round? I mean, yeah I picked Manhattan over Syracuse but at least Manhattan is 3-0 versus the big east and has a reason to upset... why Wisc-Milwaukee? -Archan
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 wooo! 2nd place after the first day.... DAMN you Duran! damn Creighton and Memphis.... -Archan
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Yeah...somebody talked way too much shit. ::points to self:: Da "still going to win" H
Guest WrestlingDeacon Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 You're not doing as bad as me. I so thought Weber St. and Memphis were money. I feel better about my picks today, but that probably doesn't mean much.
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I think everyone thought Memphis was money, however I'd be doing a lot better if I hadn't picked S. IIlinois in a random upset... -Annie
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Hey, I thought Memphis and Weber St. were sure wins as well. I also thought sorry ass Notre Dame would fall, and I'm such a moron about Creighton and Dayton. I wavered back and forth about those games everyday since the brackets came out, and it came down to me just choosing cause I was out of time, and I just went with the higher seeds...and well, it came back to bight me. I feel better today as well...but I'm still not happy. Da "thinks too much for his own good" H
Guest Evolution Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 wooo! 2nd place after the first day.... DAMN you Duran! damn Creighton and Memphis.... -Archan Don't hate the player, hate the game. Seriously, I've never done this well in a tournament challenge before. Of course, I'm saying this knowing full well that I'm going to crash and burn today. Still, I have my glory and I have my pride.
Guest chirs3 Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 Weber State? Shows how much school spirit I have, I didn't even know my team was in this "tournament" thingy.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 21, 2003 Report Posted March 21, 2003 I thought Creighton was a lock. Boooo. Oh well, still tied with Annie so far...at least none of the ones I picked and lost were going any further than the second round.
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Well, there goes my successful run. Fucking Auburn beat Wake! There goes my pick to win the whole tournament. Boo, hiss, boo.
Guest HVilleThugg Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 Yeah, that was a stupid pick...hee hee Da "smarter than you" H
Guest Edwin MacPhisto Posted March 24, 2003 Report Posted March 24, 2003 ::drops a monster deuce on Thugg::
Guest AnnieEclectic Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 My ENTIRE EAST BRACKET is now gone, as well as one of my finalists. The losing finalist but still, that really, really screws me over. God damn Louisville... Edit: also, since Louisville was facing Stanford in the Final four, I have to hope Kentucky and Duke don't get upset along the way.... bleh -Annie
Guest Evolution Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 For those of you who didn't get your bracket in on time or have been royally screwed by the likes of Butler or Auburn, you have been given a second chance. http://games.espn.go.com/tcmensc/frontpage Group Name: SWF Madness Password: smartmarks Let's see who wins this bracket.
