Guest JMA Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Do you like the fact that Molly uses "Holly" as her last name? It may rhyme, and that's cute and all, but does she really need to be associated with Bob and Crash? What do you think?
Guest Raven_Effect01 Report post Posted March 19, 2003 The whole Molly/Holly Cousins angle has been dead for a while, so yeah, I too don't think the name makes sense anymore, though I'm cringing at the thought of what WWE WOULD come up with for her new name if they decided to change it. Guest AndrewTS Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Do they even call her Molly Holly anymore? Or just Molly? Just about every female but Trish only has a first name. They also do the same thing for guys playing gay characters. Goodbye "Gunn" and "Palumbo" during the Billy and Chuck team up, and Rico's "Constantino" seems to be lost forever. WWE also made Chavo and Rey lose their "Junior"s.

Guest Basswitch Report post Posted March 19, 2003 and Rico's "Constantino" seems to be lost forever. Thats just because JR cant pronounce anything with over 7 letters in it. plus that name and Hoss enough i suppose.
Guest Youth N Asia Report post Posted March 19, 2003 I don't think anyone associates her with Bob or Crash anymore. So it's not a big deal. It was good for what it was, got her on tv with something to do. She can keep the name and not be affected by it. Where's Bob been lately? I imagine he's injured, but I haven't seen him in a while. Guest Steviekick Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Molly is fine without the Holly last name. She's no longer a blonde and doesn't dress like them, so her Holly heritage is pretty much forgotten.

Guest The Tino Standard Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Honest to God, I had completely forgotten that the last name of the Molly Holly character came from the fact that she was the "cousin" of Bob and Crash Holly. She's gone through about 3 or 4 gimmicks since then. I'd say the connection to those two is pretty much a dead issue.

The original Molly Holly --> Mighty Molly -(hair color change)-> "wholesome, pure as the driven snow, virginal" Molly Holly Changed hair color again, went through a couple hair-style changes... --> Current cat-suit wearing--face?--Molly Holly. It's basically just a throwback that doesn't factor into anything. Like Triple H's name. No need to change it since it's been established for so long. Guest JMA Report post Posted March 19, 2003 That's the thing with WWE, they are hard pressed to ever change names. Look how long it took them to rename Albert to A-Train. Man, did he ever have a horrible name or what?

Man, did he ever have a horrible name or what? Yeah--wasn't even a good change. Let's take a quick look at others... Undertaker: May as well call him "Mean Mark" Calloway. He's the Taker in only minor ways. Crash had no real need to keep the same name other than it was established. Edge: Can he be any further from his original character? Test: His name hinged on his place as a Corporation thug. Kinda pointless after that.
Guest subliminal_animal Report post Posted March 19, 2003 I remember Molly and Crash being acknowledged as cousins during the end of Crash's RAW run. They teamed in an intergender, I think. I'm happy they keep that stuff in continuity instead of pretending it never happened. Just because they're cousins, it doesn't mean they have to associate all the time, but it's brought up when they do. Gives the characters more depth.

It's stuff like what they did with Kane during the Katie Vick angle that pisses me off. He was supposed to be in institution at the time, and the angle basically dropped the Kane character, then afterwards they act like the angle never happened and Kane is supposed to be the sadistic, mentally-tormented brother of the Undertaker again who tortured small animals in the cellar as a child. Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 19, 2003 This is a non-issue... Ask ten people at a WWe event if they know Molly Holly is related to Crash Holly and Bob Holly. 2 will say "who's Bob and Crash Holly?" 2 will say "who's molly holly?" 2 will say "Molly's fat lololo" 4 will say "no"

I would prefer a more retroactive continuity. Besides, even the marks know Molly and Crash aren't related. I'm a big proponent of realism in wrestling. Guest JMA Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Then shouldn't you be watching MMA? No. I should probably be watching the NWA before Dusty got the book or perhaps Ring of Honor. But that's beside the point.
Guest CanadianChick Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Edge: Can he be any further from his original character? His character from when he was with Christian in 2000/2001 was further from his orginal character then his character now.
Guest JMA Report post Posted March 19, 2003 Edge's original character was that of a disillusioned, angry young man. An enigma of sorts. The name "Edge" came about because he would go "over the Edge" when angry. The entrance from the crowd was to show that he wasn't like other, "normal" wrestlers. His original theme tells a lot about his original character. "You think you know me? You will never know me. You know what I allow you to know. You're just a puppet." This leads me to believe the character was very anti-establishment.
