Clock Tower 3: It was released today...

This isn't a review, as I just put it in an hour ago, and haven't gotten far into it as all, because I've been taking my sweet time just really getting into it. This game is for the PS2, and as of right now, I suggest it to EVERYONE out there, especially those who love the genre. This is more of just my initial thoughts, and so far, I'm loving this...

...I'm not even going to get into the story, unless one of you guys ask about it. I just want to say that this game is a true fresh of breath air for the Survival Horror genre of video games. I am very impressed with everything from the gameplay, to the cutscenes, to the in-game graphics, to even the voices (both accents and dialouge). The first moment where a ghost, or a murderer showed up, I was really freaked out, and the first time I had to run from the murderer, I really had my heart beating, right along with my analog controller for my PS2.

This isn't your ordinary Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or Dino Crisis mind you, this is a whole new breed of the genre, a whole new breed indeed. Now...

...if any of you have any questions, ask away, and I'll tell all!

Sincerely,

...Downhome...

Sounds good. I'll get it this weekend probably. Is it more of a puzzle solving game or what though? I know you don't actually "fight" the ghosts or whatever, so what do you do when you aren't running away from them?

It is no more puzzle solving than any other game of the genre. As a matter of fact, I doubt it will be as puzzle based as Resident Evil. You do not really fight the ghosts, they don't really mean you much harm. The ghosts in the game is the core of the game. The girl finds out that she has the sixth sense, just like in the movie. She comes across ghosts (usually at their corpse or the sight of their "unnatural" murder), and you must find some sort of sentimental item, and reunite it with something. If you find an empty ring box, you have to find the ring, if you find half of a pendant, you have to find the other half, things like this.

You do have boss battles in this game though, and you use a magical bow & arrow from what I've been told, but I'm not even close to that, I'm really just at the begining. You also have holy water, which is used for various things, one of which is that when you are running from one of the murderers, you can turn around and sprinkle the water on them, and it slows them down allowing you to get away, hide, or whatever.

When you aren't running away from them, you are not bored, so don't worry about that.

All I remember from playing the first one is how stupid it was to have to run around and avoid the guy with the big scissors.

Although the PSX game was flawed, it did have its good moments. The best part by far were the very audible "SHING" noises that haunted you through the game.
