Quick Check Coffee: Fresh every 20 Minutes

I love the Quick Check Convience Stores new batch of mostly radio ads that promote their coffee. Now nothing is wrong with a convience store chain touting its brand of coffee, but they say "We have an alarm system that notifies the "team" every 20 minutes to put on a new pot." Now, you don't have to have seen the movie "Clerks" to understand the rather lifeless way store employees can be. Thats not saying they don't do their job, or do it well, thats just saying its ridiculous to think anyone is going to WANT to change the coffee every 20 minutes. PLEASE!

Okay, maybe they do change the coffee every 20 minutes, but thats probably a too "general" amount of time. Maybe a half hour, maybe when they run out (which is another pet peeve, but more when a customer finishes it and doesn't notify a store employee) or maybe WHEN THEY GET AROUND TOO IT! Especially when its one or two people on the shift.

Not to go on a rant but the ads go so against anything rooted in the mundane reality of convience store employees its comical (not just Quick Check but just about all the national chains, fast food shops, KMarts, ect)

When i was younger and worked in a gas station the coffee was supposed to be changed every half hour during busy times and every hour when it wasn't busy. In one of my crowning moments of laziness I worked the overnight shift (8 hours) and did not change the coffee which was on from the shift before me, so add at least an hour and that coffee was 9 hours old. Ironically, customers could not tell the difference between the fresh and the old.

HA! Though I must say, after many an 11:00pm coffee run, caffine, no matter how stale is still caffine.

Actually thats an even better point against the "20 minutes" ads. I mean how often do people "care" if the coffee is fresh or not past the morning rush hour?

Exactly. If you're buying convenience store coffee in the first place, you're going in with pretty low expectations of it.
