Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 22, 2003 How? Austin and Rock have done absolutely dick for ratings and Goldberg hasn't headlined a successful PPV since 1998
Guest Eagan469 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 mainstream media loves Goldberg and jews control the media, so there ya go
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 22, 2003 How? Austin and Rock have done absolutely dick for ratings and Goldberg hasn't headlined a successful PPV since 1998 Austin vs Rocky is nothing new nor fresh, and I didn't expect that to help at all anyhow. However, Goldberg vs Austin or Goldberg vs Rocky WOULD be, if you like it or not. I still stand behind him, and with the view point of him helping to bring the freshness back to WWE's on air product, and from there perhaps it will spill over to all other angles, and finally just the overall feel of the shows. Guest bob_barron Report post Posted March 22, 2003 But Goldberg hasn't drawn a dime since 1998. What do you think will make him a draw almost 5 years later. The point remains- Austin, Rock, Hogan have all come back in the past month and ratings have remained the same. And they've drawn since 1998. Goldberg v. Austin would be a one shot draw but wouldnt really do anything in the long run. His act was stale in 2001 so I don't think he will bring any freshness to the product

His act was stale in 2001 so I don't think he will bring any freshness to the product I do not think he'll be that big of a draw, but it's not his fault. I just don't think the ratings will be as huge as they once were, for possible 2+ years. The sport is in a huge downtime, and that's all there is to it. I just don't think anyone is a huge ass draw as they were 3-5 years ago, the Pro. Wrestling world has really changed since then. What I am simply wanting is a freshness to be brought to WWE, and that is all. I'm starting to feel it with the possible Booker T title reign (leading to what I hope will be a lengthy feud with Chris Jericho) and various aspects on Smackdown with Benoit and Rhyno. I feel that Goldberg can help bring a new freshness to WWE, if he feuds with guys like Austin, Rocky, HHH, and the top guys like that. Where they go from there, is up to WWE and their true desire to do anything with their product. Goldberg is not the answer, but he can be the begining of the freshness returning. The answer is up to the writers, no single person will bring the freshness back, but Goldberg could help in more than a couple of ways to speeding things along. Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Goldberg = Steiner v2.0 He will draw big pops and squash cruisers for maybe a month, max, and then no one will care because they'll realise he sucks and he can go and play with Steiner in the corner while everyone goes back to what they were doing before
Guest Showstoppa Icon Report post Posted March 22, 2003 i know im probably the only one to say this, but ill mark the f' out when i see Goldberg on TV the first time. I agree he will be useless though.
Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Wait, I might have found a positive in Goldberg coming in. You just know that he's gonna want a piece of Triple H and to be in the title picture, so providing I'm wrong about HHH's back being shot, there's some chance he'll interfere in the HHH v Booker match and then feud with HHH before going for the belt. GOLDBERG LIES DOWN FOR NO ONE. Either Cripple H is going to be jobbing or we are set for a month of no-contests!! Wait.... there were no positives in any of that. Fuck Goldberg. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 22, 2003 I fail to see how bringing in someone spoiled for ten dates is going to help things out when you have the stars under your nose. You have Rock for one more month and that's the plan. He's basically Steiner. Push Booker against Rock, build up Jericho, and run that while Triple H and Austin have their mini-feud. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 How is Goldberg fresh and new? He got stale a long time ago and even after an initial pop from the fans he'll get stale again. He tends to get stale pretty quick.
Guest wwF1587 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Fuck Goldberg. and amen
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 He's just another quick fix with one money match. Even then most of the people who wanted to see Austin/Goldberg stopped watching and probably won't sit through the crap just to see that match 4 years too late. Guest JDMattitudeV1 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 But if Goldberg comes in he will have the dreaded "creative control" clause in his contract, basically detailing who he will and won't job to. Goldberg will fail just like all the other nostalgia acts (nWo, Hogan, HBK, Steiner) and in the process squash other potential superstars. No good can come from this. Fuck Goldberg. Guest notJames Report post Posted March 22, 2003 The picture's a fraud. Just like the man. Fuck Goldberg.
Guest The Czech Republic Report post Posted March 22, 2003 In the picture it looks as if Goldberg is aligned perfectly straight, while the magazine is on an angle. Thus, Big Bill would be tilted on the newsstands. It's fake. Q.E.D.

Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted March 22, 2003 YES~! GOLDBERG HAS SIGNED~! WOOOOOO~! Now come on people. Think about it. Where are most of the superstars that Goldberg wants to face? That's right~! Raw~! So guess what? There will be a new reason to watch Raw. Cause it won' be the Criple H Show, it'll be the Criple H and Goldberg Show. And that's such a great thing! [/sarcasm] *weeps* DAMMIT! Why Vince? Why do you wish to kill Raw? I mean sure, you gave us Rock vs Austin 20902890 even though we've seen that, Criple H's never ending title reign when Criple H can't get any heat, Scott Steiner who's a shell of his former self, and many other cancers. But you never actually went so far as to try killing the good things on Raw. Like Hurricane and Rock, Booker T getting a title reign (hopefully), actually have WRESTLING on Raw, and many of the other miniscule good things. Yet you are killing it by trying to bring in draws of long ago and not successfully build on the young talent. WHY?! (End of Long Tirade)
Guest Nanks Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Please don't flame me for this, (although I know you will), but here is the word I received from my guy on another board with the WWE source... "At this time I can OFFICALY tell you that Goldberg is NOT under contratct to WWE inc. There are final contract negotiations this Tuesday in the hope to sign him for Wrestlemania and there is a possibility of a deal being made. Regarding the fact of the May editon of WWE Magazine, I can state that this magazine cover is in exsitence but was not photographed by any WWE photographer. This picture was used from the WCW pictures that they own. They created the magazine on the hope of striking a deal with Bill for Wrestlemania and so created the Magazine from old WCW material to save time. How this cover has got out to public they dont know it is not meant to be seen until Bill signs a contract which they hope for this Tuesday. Goldberg is planed to go to Smackdown to feud with Lesner as Angle is out and Bill will be the number 1 Smackdown heel, that is the plan at this time." Guest BoboBrazil Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Goldberg rules and I can't wait to see him debut in WWE. Goldberg isn't as bad in the ring as alot of people on here make him out to be. I remember him debuting new moves every week and I like his mma style moveset. He has a ton of charisma in the ring, which alot of WWE guys lack.
Guest ConchairtoHead Report post Posted March 23, 2003 The cover is real. The Black part behind the WWE logo is common (and was common on WWF Magazine) They used the WCW picture because it features his pyro "SPARKS FLY as goldberg.."
Guest hb2k_buzzsaw Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Dude, your source is full of it, because he signed last weekend, and he is gonna be on Raw to feud with Rock, leading to a match at Backlash.
Guest Jericholic82 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I subscribe to WWE Magazine and lately they have put that black background behind the logo so take it for what it is worth.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Fuck Goldberg. I agree. Let's reward the few people that work night in and night out by puting another part timer ahead of them on the roster. HHH, Hogan, Rock, Austin, Goldberg... This company deserves to die.
