Guest Lil Naitch Report post Posted March 22, 2003 Well, I just finished watching the series finale of Farscape, and I just have to say something. Is there going to be a movie? Cause I'm not a fan of the show, but with the way the show ended- w/ a cliffhanger- I have to wonder if the shows creators were building towards a movie, or just trying to piss off the fans. Guest brokentusk16 Report post Posted March 22, 2003 I've been a fan of the show for years. I considered it to be the best scifi/supernatural/fantasty/whatever show on television. When I heard it was going to be cancelled, I was outraged. That ended at about 7:59 pm. The ending totally pissed me off and left a very sour taste in my mouth. By the time the crew and everybody knew the series was ending, they had a full week of shooting left. They've said countless times that they left the finale open to go back to the series again, whether in a movie, mini-series, books, or another TV season. Personally, I think that would be pretty hard seeing as how John and Aeryn ARE DEAD!!! It seemed to me that they wanted to have the "great cliffhanger ending", but I thought it just sucked. I hated the finale and it makes the whole series look bad in my mind. Right now, I don't really care if the series starts again. They've offically driven away my support to get the series back on the air. Star Trek Voyager had a better finale than Farscape did. Worst ending EVER. Guest red_file Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Hmm, I didn't get the impression that they were dead. If they were just killed, why have them turned into jewels? I thought it was a very good finale. It wrapped up the current storylines, created several possible storylines for future things, and hinted at the fact that the crew would never lead an existence that was safe and boring. However the "to be continued" at the end of what I believed to be the series finale dd leave me in a "what the fuck is going on here" state of mind. Here's some information... "Bad Timing" was originally written as the fourth season finale. The production team was working under the premise that they would be returning for a fifth season, and as such the episode was written with a cliffhanger. They were only informed of the cancellation on Thursday 5th September, with filming set to finish on Tuesday 10th. "Bad Timing" had completed shooting on the Friday of the chat. Because of the lack of time, the crew got together but all decided that the ending should not be re-written in a rush with just a few days of shooting left, and so it was left as a cliffhanger. --Credited to farscapeworld.com Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
