I wonder if they got that primadonna to actually do jobs. If he comes in and is willing to play ball and job to people then whoopity doo but if he's just gonna come in and destroy everyone then-

Fuck Goldberg

Goldberg did draw, when he was used the right way, the way the fans wanted. It was only when they fucked him (and WCW) up at Starcade 98 when the fans totally gave up as a whole.

And by saying that, it proves that the fans wanted the streak, which just won't happen in WWE.

Remember how they tried recreating the streak in 2000-2001?

No, that isn't the point at all. They wanted Goldberg to fight top tier guys, they wanted him to just be the intense character he was durring the streak, something they just did away with, his character changed very much so, and it wasn't his fault.

Doing jobs isn't even the whole issue here. The RAW roster is just too sparse for a believable streak, unless Goldberg beats Steven Richards 75 times or something.

Why did Meltzer have to confirm it??

After he bombs there's no one else they can sign so maybe then they'll have to push new stars

It's no use Downhome, Barron is such a Goldberg hater that nothing will convince him of liking Goldberg in WWE. And I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist like the majority of the board, I do want Goldberg to make it in WWE, but depending on how HHH gets into Vince's ear...... Remember, the fans still cheer loudly when Big Poppa Pump comes out, and he should be the World Champ, but HHH obviously vetoed the idea.....

Also Wrestling Unlimited . com has a picture of Goldberg in the May edition of RAW magazine. Pretty cool actually......

Does anyone even remember Goldberg? It's been more then two years since he's been on TV. I wonder how the locker room will react to him?

This is a HUGE mistake and I wish Vince would've examined the ratings for RAW before he did it.

This is akin to Vince bringing in the Warrior in 1996

I love how the Royal Rumble and No Way Out get conveniently forgotten.

Especially by someone accusing someone else of bias.

And how protected Steinber had to be because of his poor physique and mobility.

That's funny considering that I just said if he came in and did jobs while still being over I wouldn't mind him.

The bottom line is that bringing Goldberg in is useless. He hasn't drawn since late 1998, has been off tv for two years and WWE doesn't need him.

The fans cheer loudly when Steiner comes out??? You mean like when they booed him out of the building at the Royal Rumble, No Way Out and RAW in Toronto? Or how every single RAW he's on, except for last week, he gets booed. Scott Steiner does not deserve to be World Champion. He can't work a match without blowing up and the crowd hates the guy. You don't know whether HHH veoted him getting the belt so I don't see how that's 'obvious'. Maybe if this was 1992 I could see giving the guy the belt but it's not. He's a washed up, broken down, old has been who adds nothing to the product.

Hush Brian. He was a victim. A VICTIM~! I tells ya!

DH, please outline the differences between the Goldberg of 2000 and the Goldberg of 1998, because I'm drawing blanks. "Top tier guys"? Didn't Goldberg often fight jobbers on Nitro, as champion?

Probably the same type of people whom were happy to See warrior in the WWF and WCW

More than likely Vince needs to get his head examined. You'd think seeing the short-term fixes either bomb or do nothing in long-term would wake him up.

I love how you make no attempt to defend the arguments people made against your point

I'm not wishing death on them but after Goldberg they have no one left to bring in.

So when he bombs they'll be forced to build new stars

If you're here to flame-bait and not make an argument, consider this a warning.

If you can not tell the difference between Goldberg of Starcade 98, and Goldberg of 2001, then you have no clue. He was totally used the wrong way, against the wrong guys, over and over again, after Nash pinned him.

RAW is going to be an interesting exercise in politics. Think about their main eventers right now: Triple H, Goldberg, Austin. That's a lot of egos you have to keep happy and have to keep main eventing. There is so absolutely no chance in hell of Booker T or Chris Jericho getting a go at the top now its not even funny. Remember, after all this, THERE'S STILL NASH TO COME.

On the positive, I think Sting and Lex Luger are about the last people left I can think of for Vince to sign as a 'quick ratings fix' attempt. After that he will literally have no choice but to push new talent.

....and pisses off the smarks. :P

Oh just shut up. You've basically made no attempt to defend your argument and now you're like 'THE SMARSK ARE PSISEF OFF GOSD GOLDBERF!'

Do you have anything important to say or are you too busy watching No Way Out on mute so you can still think Steiner is over as a face?

Actually I dont see why I should as no matter what I say you tend to ignore it as your hatred for the guy makes explanations pointless. And besides, whether you or I agree with our opinions is no reason for us not to be civil.....

That may not be his fault but because of that he isn't over as he was and isn't as a big draw. Someone who hasn't been used correctly for three years is not going to be draw and help the company. Simple as that.

What was your main argument? That Steiner should have been given the world title. A guy who's physically incapable of wrestling pay per view length matches, is a walking cripple, and has bombed in front of live crowds when wrestling while having little effects on ratings.

You said Steiner was over as face and it was 'obvious' Triple H veoted his reign.

You make no attempts to defend the signing of Goldberg other then saying I'm a Goldberg hater. I've given reasons to how I would like to see Goldberg used while you haven't.

Bob, dude, don't waste your breath arguing with him. He's just flame-baiting.

And by the way I dont flame bait as I dont have a history of flame baiting on this board nor have I ever been in any real conflict with anyone on this board. I just understand that certain wrestlers generate some heat and that no matter how much you try to defend them it just doesnt seem to make any difference. I like to watch Goldberg, Steiner, Nash, but I also like to watch Jericho, Benoit and Edge so dont take it the wrong way. We agree to disagree...

Thanks. All I asked was a simple question.

Wrong guys?? Um, yeah.
