Superstar Jennifer Lopez was left devastated after dropping her $1.5 million diamond engagement ring down a sink. The singer was dining at posh Hollywood eaterie The Ivy when disaster struck. After dashing to the bathroom, J.Lo took off the six-carat pink diamond ring - given to her by fiance Ben Affleck - so she could wash her hands. But she could only watch in horror as the gem slipped down the sink. According to eyewitnesses she screamed, "Oh my god! Somebody help me - this is an emergency." A source at the restaurant confirms, "It was her worst nightmare. Everyone could hear shrieks coming from the bathroom and the staff leapt into action." Within seconds workers were called to open up the drainpipes - and the ring was found. Lopez was so grateful she handed out a $110 tip to staff, telling pals later, "Ben would have killed me if I lost the ring. And I would have probably killed myself too." The pair, who met on the set of 2002 movie Gigli, are rumored to be planning their wedding for later this year.

 

Personally, if she was screaming like that and I ran up asking what's the matter...I think I'd have no choice but to punch her when she answered "I dropped my million dollar ring." Maybe that's just me though.

I think it's not just the money, but the whole 'love' behind the ring. She was probably even more upset because she almost lost something close to her heart, even though this is like the 500th time something has been this close to her heart.

I could understand her being upset about dropping her ring down the drain, but I think any *normal* person would have just been like:

 

"FUCK! My ring!"

 

And then had someone try to get it out for her. But the fact that she made that whole scene about it being an emergency makes me want to slap the dumb bitch.

I wonder how J-LO and other rappers with loads of "bling bling" around their necks and fingers feel about the fact that a lot of the gold and diamonds come from African mines that are basically dug out by slaves, often young teens who are put to work so the rich exporters can make a huge profit selling it to american jewel companies which in turn, sell it for ridiculous amounts of money. I am not much into jewelry anyway, and neither is my gf(she will wear something I buy her, but nothing ridiculous) just knowing where a lot of the stuff comes from is enough to make me think twice about every spending loads of money on some FUCKING ROCK. I mean afterall a Diamond is just a shiny fucking rock. *ahem* I hope my rant doesn't get this moved to current events forum.
