Wcw Carolina fans are rabid for flair...

Wwf Carolina fans are much more timid...

The way I see it is that Canadian Wwf fans, generally, have been wrestling fans longer than American.  Canadian fans have lasted through the 'dark age', most likely because Bret Hart was on top, so they all remember Hogan (in a good light).

American fans are more 'casual', but I wouldnt be surprised if Hogan got a sizable pop from the crowds...

I think the fans really want to cheer Hall and Hogan.  Nash wasn't all that over in WWF, except in 94 and 96, despite being World Champ for a year.  But Hall and Hogan were top babyfaces in the WWF and many WWF fans don't care all that much about WCW.  Mr. Perfect is another guy who the fans want to cheer and the TO fans popped huge for.  Bringing Perfect in as a heel and not capitalizing on his "welcome back, we missed you man" pops was a mistake, they could have turned him heel at Mania and run with it.  Positioning nWo as heels is completely understandable though.  When fans want to cheer someone and are basically told to boo them they often times don't react much at all.  Except in cases like RVD and HHH in 2000.  Austin went from wildly popular face, to a heel who was still cheered, to getting a much smaller reaction than usual, and then really got over as a heel in the summer.

Yeah, they messed up with Perfect, nut in all fairness, you could hear crickets when he was scheduled to fight Val Venis. He's another guy I opposed the WWF bringing in. His best years are behind him and a younger star could have easily been put in the slot he is now. I mean jobbing to Rikishi on heat? How pathetic.

Yeah really. If they're serious about making the younger guys take a pay cut, why not just cut their losses on some of the older midcarders they either picked up out of nowhere or brought back from the minors (Goldust, Perfect, Godfather, etc.) They've got little to no upside and they won't be around in the future when they'll need to shore up the midcard with new stars. 'Cuz lord knows, UT, Austin, and the nWo won't be in the Main Event 5-6 years from now and we'll need all the Edges, Angles, and Benoits we can get.

And hopefully the next time HHH gets dropped fom a crane, he'll stay dropped.

To be honest I was more in favor of bringing back Perfect than Hogan.  I was a huge Hogan mark as a kid and then soured on him.  however I always have liked Hennig, except for his drunken faze in WCW, which produced shitty matches but funny promos.  hennig to me has proven that he still is capable of having a good match.  He just like Flair has a very basic offense and is all selling.  He can still bump, he can still work, what he needs is motivation.

I don't think Hogan should wear the strap again. He should get a title match, but not the strap. Yep, we still got to see if he will be over in the States.

This is my question. How long will this Hogan lovefest last and how can they sustain it? At this rate I say SummerSlam maximum if they continue to push him hard. I say SummerSlam and call it quits and then be something like Flair. It can last longer if he is rarely seen.

I stated that the wwf should have put RVD vs. Perfect in Toronto. However, they do the match the week after for Heat where he gets a good pop. I know what Canada will pop for dammit! and what would interest the crowd.

A friend and I were talking about this and the only way Hogan keeps this heat is if he doesn't wrestle every week. The overexposure would kill any momentum he has. Allow the dinosaur to wrestle house shows and the PPV and that's it. I would say do the same for the other main eventers and allow the midcard to get more ring time during the weekly shows. If you wanna see the main event wrestle, then buy the PPV. Obviously, they can have their tag matches and work their angles building toward the PPV but if they wrestle, make it an event. Right now, when anyone wrestles, the fan does not perceive it as an EVENT, just another wrestling match regardless of the WWF hype.

The pops he's been getting won't last long. He's hit peak popularity now, and after the current feud I think people will start to get bored again.

There's no way he'll be WWF champion again.

As much as I can't stand Hogan, I wouldn't mind seeing a short farewell title reign where he travels around for like a month saying goodbye to all the 'hulkamaniacs' (ugh) then retires as champ and gets the #### off my tv for good.

Do i think he should?

No, he doesnt need it.

Will he?

#### yeah he's Hogan! He will probably make sure he wins and loses it a couple times before he's gone to make sure he is a top that list again of most title reigns.

He should wear it if he stays over for a short run this summer then have him drop it to the Rock (As either a heel or face) in the rematch from Wrestlemania. Hogan has to do for the Rock what Andre did for him.

Even though I hate the Rock.

Yeah 'cos we all know how Hogan has been an egomaniac since he's come back to the WWF.

I'd like Hogan to have one final WWF World Title run, hopefully he'll job it to the Rock in his final match and then Rock can bury Austin and rid him from the WWF forever... yeah that'd do me.

I think he was joking.

And I still think the lovefest for the Goblin will die down soon enough once they start cramming him down everyone's throats. Nostalgic infatuation with past glory is one thing, but giving him the belt would just kill the credibility of it even more. What heels would you throw against him that wouldn't make him look as old as he is? Jericho? Angle? I have a hard time with Taker vying for the belt against HHH let alone reprising his title bout with Hogan from 10 years ago.

And having him turn heel again would just elicit groans from everyone who got tired of the Hollywood Hogan show from WCW.

Hogan's time has come and gone. Even this amazing pop of late is just a short pitstop on his way to the dinosaur graveyard. Let him ride out his contract in a Shawn Michaels-esque ambassador capacity. Let him do promotional stuff in malls and whatnot. Let him do Stacker 2 commercials. Just keep him out of the ring, and for god's sake keep the belt off him.

(if you're notJames, then who are you really?)

I've stated this since the NWO was signed. Nostalia is nice (whether it's for Flair, NWO, Perfect, HBK, Bret) but eventually you have to have someone new to excite the wrestling world. Brock Lesnar is a step in the right direction. If you were to give Hogan the belt, that's going two steps back.
