Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Well according to the lovely and talented website that is metal-sludge.com, HEadbangers Ball will return. Only to MTV2 but hell, thats not bad. Oddly enough, Uranium Hostess Juliya will be the shows host. A possibility of some decent unknown music being played AND another chance to stare at a very nice piece of eye candy? I'm there.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Awesome! Hopefully some real, pure Metal will return. I'm sick of all these bands trying to reinvent the wheel. Just play the music and screw your gimmick! And Juliya C would be better then Riki Rachtman. I wonder if she's leaving Much Music and "Uranium?" Oh, and I won't watch it if that Iann Robinson(sp?) is on the show every week. I can't stand that piss ant!
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 This is either a good thing, or a very bad thing. But if it's decent, it'll be a good thing. Ok, who wants to see what videos?
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 23, 2003 I want to see video's that I don't get to see or haven't seen yet from bands. I don't want to see garbage that they play all day anyway and all these "Rock/Punk" pop bands that get played on regular MTV and TRL. That's the crap that killed "HBB" in the first place. Guest Nevermortal Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Juliya's hosting it? I'M SO FUCKING THERE.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Someone post some Juliya pictures for those who don't know who she is. I tried looking for some and even checked Much Music's site and they have none.
Guest Matt Young Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Fuckin' A. I didn't think they'd ever bring back the Ball seeing as how they have Extreme Rock on MTV2 now, but it'd be great to have it back... I'd imagine it'd be like a combination of Extreme Rock's videos with Uranium's interview segments, and hopefully they'll throw in a "live" performance every once in a while. As long as they play some good music and have Juliya as the host, I am so there.
Guest razazteca Report post Posted March 23, 2003 So what will be the video line up? Trust Company, Korn, Linkcon Park or Slayer, Pantera, Sepatura?
Guest Dace59 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Please not the first one. But I'd prefer some slightly more unknown stuff. Darkthrone have videos, air them.
Guest gangsteruwa Report post Posted March 23, 2003 For pictures of that chick go here: http://www.mmusa.tv/content/uranium/launcher.php I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, any metal on my tv generally makes me happy. On the other hand the videos will probably be of bands like Korn or Disturbed. Maybe there will be some old Metallica or Slayer just to keep some metal heads happy. They'll probably throw some classic rock in there as well. Basically a stripped down version of MTV-X (which when it was on, only played 1 to 3 videos a day that i liked I liked).
Guest NoCalMike Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Extreme Rock is a hit or miss show currently. SOme weeks will get Arch Enemy, Lamb of God, Down, Pantera all in one week, then some weeks will just suck sanz a video or two. I wonder if Headbanger's ball will be even playing Metal though because according to MTV, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park IS metal and IS something you bang yer heads too......so we will have to wait and see. Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 23, 2003 LP and LB makes me want to bang my head against a desk maybe... And to think, just a few weeks ago I downgraded from the cable package that carries Much Music. Now I get to see some hopefully good videos and stare at Juliya again. Oh, and... Guest kingkamala Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Guys you gotta remember the original Headbanger's Ball while it did show Slayer, Pantera, Anthrax and those types of bands they also played crap like Poison, Firehouse,Trixter. I figure this'll be the same type of line up 50% gold, 50%shit
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Well, being on M2 is a good sign that it may be good. M2 isn't nearly as good as it once was, but you've got a better chance of seeing something good on it compared to MTV.
Guest Bloodice Report post Posted March 24, 2003 About damn time HBB LIVES!!!!!
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Well if Iann Robinson or Juliya have any say in it you will see some good videos. She's openly said Linkin Park and Papa Roach and the like suck on her show, so I doubt she's gonna be taking a job to host a show featuring them. Iann, while a bit annoying, at least understands what good music is more or less. Maybe I'll at least get some of Tool's most recent videos on there.

Why the fuck are they bringing it back given that only 1/3rd of their audience HAS MTV2??????? Why the fuck don't they just take their time and effort making MTV2 MADATORY in ALL basic Cable packages FIRST before they do this? Or even better, put the fucking show on MTV and ship all of their bullshit pretty-people shows onto a pay-cable site ala HBO instead???????????????
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Who cares...besides being on MTV would majorly increase the odds of it becoming "Just another MTV show" and showing videos you can see on MTV all day.
Guest snuffbox Report post Posted March 24, 2003 should be on mtv...could really use something better than 'all things rock'

Guest Plushy Al Logan Report post Posted March 24, 2003 VH1 used to have a show like that a few weeks ago, where they played Classic Rock videos. I actually remember HBB from when I was a kid.
Guest converge241 Report post Posted March 24, 2003 i have a bunch of them on tape while growing up HBB with curry then Rachtman also the daily Hard 30 and Hard 60 shows that were on MTV as well
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 24, 2003 I don't feel like making a new thread, so I'm gonna ask this here. Who the Hell is "Cold?" I just saw their video for "Stupid girl." Could they try to look or sound any more like Disturbed?

Could they try to look or sound any more like Disturbed? Well I believe that they were around and had a video on MTV BEFORE Disturbed hit it big...so eh :shrugs: Besides it's not like Disturbed is lighting the world on fire with originality. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Cold is a Fred Durst creation...Often times you'll see them lumped with Staind... Disturbed is vastly different then Cold in so many ways... Cold is mood "staind" like music....Disturbed is Enlightenment Hard Rock...
Guest KingOfOldSchool Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Cold was discovered by Fred Durst. Sounds bad already, I know. They had a few videos out and about early on after their self-titled debut, which didn't cause much of a stir. Their biggest break then came when the minor hit 'Just Got Wicked' was released off '13 Ways To Bleed.' It wasn't much of a splash, but was a regular on MTV2 and MTVX, gaining the band a larger audience. I don't recall it being much of a radio hit though. So yeah, they were already out there when Disturbed broke out. I don't think they're that bad, and are certainly better than LB and LB's other pet projects. Still nothing that special though. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 24, 2003 The only similarty is the shaved heads of the lead singers...
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Yeah, Cold does a lot more things than a Disturbed or Staind could ever do as far as sounds and ambience and what not. Like someone said, not super special or anything but they can still do some fairly nice things. I'm a fan of their inclusion of positive songs where the singer isn't always a tortured soul as well. Guest Oaf Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I'm a fan of Cold. I think they are a very good metal band with *gasp* talent. Unlike Linkin Park....
