Guest Matt Report post Posted March 21, 2002 Im not gonna hype this as "these are the greatest bouts ever contested on the face of this, our mother earth; and should you spared but a week til death it must become upon your highest priority to view these matches straight through unto your zero hour." But I will say that I have seen a lot of matches, and these 100 stand out as the creme de la creme for MY viewing pleasure. I will however be so bold as to declare that none of these matches suck. Guest J*ingus Report post Posted March 21, 2002 Dammit, I looked long and hard on that list for a match that sucked, and couldn't come up with anything. It's a bit heavy on the Puro cruiserweights I think, but otherwise is fine work.
Guest Annoyed Grunt Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I can see some of the smarkier arguing RVD vs. Lynn, but I think that's about it.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I haven't seen some of them but on paper they are all good. "I can see some of the smarkier arguing RVD vs. Lynn, but I think that's about it." I don't think anyone would argue that the match "sucked", but it wasn't teh be all and end all ***** classic that the mutants make it out to be. It's in the *** star range, by my count. RVD stopped every 3 minutes to pose which just killed the flow.
Guest Matt Report post Posted March 22, 2002 my position on rvd vs. lynn is less favorable now than it once was and if i were to rank these matches, it would easily come in last. But it was my first taste of ECW as it was clipped for the first episode of ECW on TNN. I was like 14 or something and never had the funds to obtain obscure wrestling or pay for their ppv's in addition to the wwf's. And I must say, it was different. Very different from what i was seeing in the wwf at the time. we were hot off of Summerslam 1999 and I hadn't seen a good wrestling match in forever. all the good ones had had some stipulation attached. This one, aside from the chairs and that one table, was pulled off novelty free. It was more slowly paced than the stuff i have seen since but RVD was a whole nother thing altogether. Very different style that got old after a while but at the time was fascinating. So I guess, it was the start of the "Smark" discovery era tat we all go through where we expand our horizons. So it holds a bit of nostalgia on those grounds
Guest Annoyed Grunt Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I've heard people say that RVD/Lynn sucks, but I'd imagine that they said it out of frustration about the ***** reviews from the mutants. Persoanlly, I haven't seen the match in a couple of years, but I remember it being one of those really entertaining *** matches.
