Guest Trivia247 Report post Posted March 23, 2003 Seems the White House doesn't like the thought of a even playing field as we hear word that Russian Arms Companies have been selling High tech and up to date Military equipment to Iraqi arm forces in Baghdad. The White House has been making quiet protests but now with the war is on Bush Officially denounces the Russian elements that is selling arms illegally. Um Im still wondering what the hell are Legal and Illegal weapons in a War? Anyway the list of items sold to the Iraqi's are Radio Jamming capabilities and Night vision goggles. More is probably named but not made public.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 24, 2003 (I was about to post this, untill I saw this thread. Some of this was posted here already, but some, you may be shocked by.) Again, I don't have an internet source for this as it's just now being released, but on FoXNews, they have just said that not only has Russia been supplying Iraq with various weapons and supplies, but they are doing it right now, CURRENTLY. Besides the night vision equipment that they have given Iraq, but they have also been giving them, and are there RIGHT NOW teaching them how to use electronic jamming equipment to be used against the Coalition. Besides that, they have also been supplying Iraq with missles (I forget what they are called) which are mainly used to destry tanks. Now, this isn't the really interesting part... ...not only is the above now true, and confirmed, but would you like to know HOW Iraq has recieved many of these items. Well, believe it or not (it's not that hard to believe), much of it was smuggled in secrently, by UN Humanitarian people. Is it a wonder that Russia, France, and Germany were against us in the UN? I've always said that the UN was fucked up, but it's not just me, it's perfectly obvious that it's a corrupt organazation. Sincerely, ...Downhome...

Guest Jobber of the Week Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Um Im still wondering what the hell are Legal and Illegal weapons in a War? Depends on what treaties and agreements the countries involved have signed. Believe it or not, the only countries that have NOT signed the ban on land mines treaty are the U.S. and a few of the more barbaric nations in the world, including "Axis of Evil" nations. Anyway, pretty much ALL of Iraq's military equipment was taken from the USA and various other countries, so I'm not blown away. So far, an Australian newspaper has reported that soldiers have found that Iraq was hiding Cruise Missiles. If they've been given that, then yeah, there could be problems. I haven't heard of the source before though, so I'm going to wait until I see this on other outlets. As for the jammers, GPS jamming hardware aren't exactly top-secret high end technology. Anyone with a few college courses in EE could figure out how to build one themselves. Also, it isn't really wise to walk around with one of these switched on while the enemy has complete control over the airspace and HARM missiles...

Fairness is completely undesireable in war. The goal is to WIN, not to have some "level playing field." You'll have to pardon the expression, but I hear it a lot at work: Only a civilian could possibly say something that myopic. Um Im still wondering what the hell are Legal and Illegal weapons in a War? After Desert Storm, there are certain specific weapons and certain types of weapons that Saddam is not allowed to have. Iraq's acquisition of this technology also violates the trade sanctions imposed after Desert Storm.
Guest EricMM Report post Posted March 24, 2003 Iraq does not deserve an even playing field, we deserve the advantage. We earned it by beating them 12 years ago. Besides, if Iraq were on our level, the world would be a much more deadly place. If you can't see the difference between America having the power we have, and some 3rd world dictatorship having the power we have, you're blind. WE are the good guys. America the greatest country on earth, and we have shown ourselves to be for years. Someone tell me what country has done more for other countries?

Lichenstein! lol Im sure there are Countries who do their fair share for other countries... Well if we beat them 12 years ago truly...then we wouldn't be here playing this Hand Slapping War of just bombing presidental Palaces.

He didn't say we do our "fair share" he said we do more for other countries than any other in the world. And he is absolutely correct. No other country gives as much money, food, medicine, and other humanitarian aid than we do, not a single one. This war is more than just "hand slapping" and "bombing presidential palaces". If it was only that would there be a dozen dead Americans? This is a very serious and deadly war and only the ignorant didn't know that going in. Presidetn Bush told us over and over that this was not going to be a walk in the park and that it would take a while. Why people thought it would be over in 3 days is beyond me. It might take a another week, it might take anotehr month, it might take six months, no one knows for sure. That is why the press can't get a defifitive answer, there isn't one. It will be over when we win and will will not accept defeat, we will not accept a tie, we will accept nothing less than full and total victory in all of our objectives.
