Chemical Plant found in Iraq

BTW No one's answered a simple question.  Why was this plant camoflaged, surrounded by an electric fence, had a substantial security force (at least 30 people) and had 2 generals on site?

I think that kinda proves that this is probably more than your run-of-the-mill fertilizer plant.

and I understand that the UN had no idea that this place even existed. Can the sign-guys screaming 'peace' please quiet down now and stop defending these fucking retards.

I saw a peacenik on tv awhile back, he was asked if war was ever right. "yes" "when?" "hmmm...id say Castro in Cuba" Smart, smart people here.

Exactly. I doubt they'd send a couple dozen guards, PLUS a general, PLUS hide the entire thing with camo, if they were just making shoe polish there.

Unless it was really, really good shoe polish. You know, polish it once and you're good for six months. :D

well lets find out what the hell they made....

if not Anthrax or VX since whatever was in there has been cleared out it could still be anything.

but also keep in mind aside the fact that Cammo and sandwalls may have been done recently because of the threat of war...it doesn't really have to be a chem weapon lab anyway....the Iraqi people wasn't getting much care....But Saddam and his cronies has been taking care of himself so whatever was in there coud also be medical for their use and hid and fenced up to keep Iraqi villagers away....

but thats just Devil Advocate stuff.

My money's still on the fact that they either a) find something there, or b) find evidence that stuff was there until recently.

At the least, I think they'll probably find evidence that this facility was used, in some capacity, in processing chem weapons.

You may have heard already but a chemical plant was found in Iraq. Its on CNN, MSNBC, etc. How it got past weapons inspectors bewilders me. I hear it was partially underground or something. Anyway, maybe now all the French, hippies, actors/muscians will shut up now.

With Blix in charge, we're lucky the inspectors found sand.

-=Mike --- darned lucky

Another thing to consider: what if it was inspected early on, nothing was found there, and then the Iraqis started using it after seeing that it wouldn't be an issue again?

Exactly. Iraq does have several plants that can be dual purpose plants. What's the difference between a chemical plant and a fertilizer plant (ok that's stretching it but go with me for a bit here)? Blix and company go to the plant and find nothing at all harmful. They leave, and it's business as usual. Processing equipment can have more than one use.

Yes, Iraq has dual purpose plants.

And they should be shut down IMMEDIATELY.

Hey, it might cause problems --- but they won't be our problems.

-=Mike
