DrVenkman PhD Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Logic states that the person Jones squashes for his debut on Thursday should NOT be someone with a match at Mania.... so expect them to do the house show circuit match of Matt Hardy vs. Nathan Jones and have Matt squashed just 3 days (in TV time) before his CW title defense. Seriously though, my bet is on Demott. Anyone else likely?
Guest Will Scarlet Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 I will go with DeMott. He makes the most sense. He's big, he's a heel, Taker squashed him last week, and he actually has some credibility. I know I have zero problem with DeMott being squashed, though I do question why they suddenly changed DeMott from "Velocity bully" to "Smackdown jobber."

It makes perfect sense to be a bully on Velocity and be squashed on SD! Especially when his most high profile wins were over Moore and (I think) Rikishi.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Funaki...er, I mean Bill Demott
Kurt Angle Mark Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 One of the FBI, since they always job on Smackdown.
Guest JDMattitudeV1 Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Jamie Knoble or Nunzio. I think by the end of Nathan's first match we should have plenty of new material for the "unintentional comedy" thread.

Still he may cut a promo, and if you've seen some of his WWA interviews, it will defiantly fall into the so bad it's good category.
Guest Sakura Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Kendrick. "welcome to the WWE. Your first official match is against Nathan Jones~!" says Steph.
Guest Space_Cowboy Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Probably poor Shannon, he always ends up getting squashed by the Hoss of the Month at some point, and this month that means he gets to play job boy to Mr. Lactating Nipple.
Guest edge007 Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Well, they'd probably debut Jones against someone worse than him to make Jones look good. Like Big Show! Oh wait, he's at Mania. A-Train! Wait, he's at mania too... Nah, seriously, probably DeMott. I still shudder to see the hossariffic match at XIX.
Conspiracy_Victim Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Well, they're going to want to emphasize the only things he can bring to the table. That means size and strength. That means throwing some poor cruiser out there. Tajiri? Kind of a tweener/face, don't think so. Noble? Possible, due to the fact that if anyone can drag a halfway watchable match out of Boggo Man, it'd be him. Kendrick? Nah, they're making him out as a sympathetic face. No reason to put him out there against the for-some-reason face Jones. That leaves Shannon. While Shannon's relative inexperience combined with Jones'..well, for lack of a better word, shitiness... could lead to a huge trainwreck, his willingness to get tossed around for the fans' pleasure (see Lesnar, Brock and the hands free over the top B2B suplex) would make Jones look like a monster. So, my vote goes to Shannon followed closely by Noble. Of course now that I write this they're going to throw DeMott or someone like him out there and just have a black hole of shit that will suck the arena into it's swirling vortex, but hey, they're the professionals right?
Guest Spaceman Spiff Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Just pick any ex-WCW guy. If I was betting, I'd pick either Knoble or Kanyon.
Guest notJames Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 Shannon Moore. He's the most expendable, and since there's 2:1 odds that whoever gets in the ring with Jones will likely end up legitimately injured, no one will really miss the MF'er in the end.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 It'll probably be some low level heel. ANyone else think the other guy will get one big hit off or something and Jones will snap and kill him...only to be restrained by Taker?
