Guest KOR420 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Being Horror or any other genre what's your favorite movie with lots of gore, blood&guts? My Picks Dawn&Day of the Dead Dead Alive
Guest kkktookmybabyaway Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Hmmm, after reading you post, the first thought that came to mind was "Blade." Interesting.
Guest Youth N Asia Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Dead Alive is the shit. But you MUST watch the unrated version or it's a waste of time. The scenes with the baby, priest, and lawnmower will go down as some of the greatest movie moments ever...in my warped brain anyway. "I kick ass for the Lord!" Dawn of the Dead is probably my favorite 70's movie. I actually liked the first "Return of the Living Dead." But not the 100's of sequals that followed. Could Evil Dead 2 be considered gore? Re-Animator is cool...not as over the top gorey as Dead Alive though. Too bad that the day of the gore film is at an end...what was the last real gore movie on the big screen?
Guest KOR420 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 I have to buy the unrated version of that movie because the closest video stores aren't local I have hollywood and Blockbuster,Video pix is close but the sign says"Thousands of popular AND Adult movies I'm 21 and I've never been in there but it sounds like they wouldn't have much along the way of movies, regular movies probably more porn but that doesn't help when I'm not looking for them
Guest TUS_02 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Re-Animator is cool...not as over the top gorey as Dead Alive though. Nothing can touch that scene in Re-Animator with the cat... the last time I laughed that hard was probably.... well, the baby in the park scene in Dead Alive
Guest starvenger Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Horror movies probably have more gore, but I'll take Hard Boiled anyday...
Guest J*ingus Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Seriously, Saving Private Ryan was possibly the goriest movie I've ever seen. But some of the usual suspects like Dawn of the Dead or Cannibal Holocaust are right up there too.
Guest Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 The maniacas who made Cannibal Holocaust actually killed the animals for real. That is so fucked up to kill something for a movie. I am not big on animals but I hope they rot in ####.
Guest Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 I acutally don't know man. It was awhile ago....I don't know what happened. It is kind of an older movie. If you go on http://www.imdb.com and look up Cannibal Holocaust you probably could find more info. I will do that too when I come back online.
Guest converge241 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Seven Doors of Death. one of the first DVDS i picked up once i got the player. honorable mention to the house of 1000 corpses preview. cant wait
Guest Anorak Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Bad Taste and Braindead. Who would have thought the same person responsible for those two films will end up winning a bunch of oscars soon?
Guest dreamer420 Posted March 21, 2002 Report Posted March 21, 2002 Evil Dead 1 & 2 as well as Army of Darkness are all favs of mine. From Dusk Till Dawn is another pretty good one.
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 The usual suspects... Dead Alive/Braindead Return Of The Living Dead Cannibal Holocaust Saving Private Ryan Yeah...add The Shining to the list...TONS OF BLOOD, BRADA!!!!
Guest Ravenbomb Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Some of the scenes in Godfather were pretty bloody Evil Dead (Evil Dead 2 isn't NEARLY as good as this) Dawn of the Dead Demons I hated...HATED Dead Alive. The Kung-Fu priest was pretty funny but the rest of the movie was stupid.
Guest Annoyed Grunt Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 Anything by Lucio Fulci (note: Seven Doors of Death is one of his, but the film's real title is 'The Beyond'), "The Story of Ricky" "The StreetFighter" and "Versus"
Guest evenflowDDT Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 I'm not much of a gore-hound, but definitely "Dead/Alive", but whats the difference between it and "Braindead"? I know they're the same movie, but I've heard that "Braindead" is totally uncut, and even the unrated version of "Dead/Alive" in the U.S. has some stuff cut... can anyone clear this up for me? Its really a funny, messed up film, but I don't want to buy a cut version...
Guest TUS_02 Posted March 23, 2002 Report Posted March 23, 2002 You're right. Braindead is the European version, which is different from the un-cut version of Dead Alive. I'm not sure why this is the case, for I haven't read anything from Peter "God" Jackson explaining why. But it is funny to watch Blockbuster's version of Dead-Alive... then watch the un-cut version... I bet the European cut puts them all to shame.
