New Radiohead Album Has Awful Title

At least they didn't go with the proposed 2+2=5, which sounds like the name of a Sum 41 album. Alas, the song still exists, and it looks to be the opening track.

They could name the album "B-X is a fucking cunt and he engages in incest and homosexual actvities with Crucifixio Jobes" and I would still buy it and enjoy it.

This band is already on thin ice with me, what with the terrible Amnesiac. Don't make it two in a row, guys.

The title stopped being funny two minutes after the 2000 election scandal died down. If they couldn't think of a title as dated as Hail to the Theif or as idiotic as 2+2=5, they should've just st'ed it.

they should pull a spinal tap just no name and pick a color besides black or white (the beatles - if anyone needed to be told)

radiohead - the muave album

Well, I heard it was going to be called 'apparently' at one point and that would have been crap. I think hail to the thief is the best of those three, but man.

Yeah, that sucks. I hope this isn't the official official title because it's the sort of embarrassingly punny nonsense that I'd make fun of if I didn't like the band. Still, it's indicative of just a slight bit more effort than naming your album after marks of punctuation like those Icelandic cunts in Sigur Ros.

Apparently they decided aping RATM was better than aping Pink Floyd.

Why do people love this shitty "Art" Music So much? It's because it was cool to say you knew Radiohead around 1994 before the world rightfully realized the suckiness of these guys.

Why waste your time with this depressing dreck?

"Art" music?

I consider Radiohead to be a rock band, albeit one that's often more experimental than many other mainstream artists. In my experience, people tend to love Radiohead because even after the misstep of Amnesiac, they're still one of the most interesting and exciting regularly productive band around.

Depressing, perhaps. Dreck? Nah.

Sigur Ros is officially the most boring band ever. They're right up there with Tool & Radiohead when it comes to bore factor.

Your ignorance is embarassing. Don't post in threads where you have nothing to offer.

i must've missed that memo from the world that radiohead is now considered crap, cause i've yet to hear any substantial backlash to them (aside from scattered message board comments).

I liked Amnesiac. Sure, it was less good than OK Computer and Kid A, but it was still incredibly good when put against every other band.

Yeah. I generally don't speak too favorably of Amnesiac because it mostly plays like a lesser, not as well organized or cohesive or fresh-sounding Kid A, but it's still pretty slick. "I Might Be Wrong," "Like Spinning Plates," "Pyramid Song," and "Life In A Glasshouse" are all bombastically delicious songs that always make me come back, even if some of the album falls flat.

I'm not a big fan, but I'd definitely say they're a damn good band. This is also quite a lame album title. They should lift one from Anal Cunt.

I'm only a fan by association, with my best friend being the ULTIMATE RH fanboy OF DEATH. Life in a glasshouse is a favourite, though. And what I can't understand is how music depressing you (not that I really think RH does) is a bad thing. It could just not affect you at all, and thus be worthless.

who gives a shit about the name of the record? really, if the music rules then the album name will soon be synonymous with "*****". if the music eats a dick then no witty title will save the record.

He has a point. Black Sabbath could've called Paranoid something along the lines of "Ass Ticklers Faggots Fan Club", and it'd still be good.

True. I wasn't pre-judging the album; I hated the title, and started a thread about it.

Oh, and Sigur Ros is great live. Everything leading up to the encore was good, but that encore...the encore was one of the most glorious, beautiful moments I've ever experienced live. I haven't seen Radiohead live, though I'd definitely check them out the next time I get the chance.

ok, i thought you really were pre-judging the album because of the title. i felt it was my duty to chime in and stop the insanity.

hey, that gives me an idea abouta new thread.....
