Guest graph9 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Damn..if that is true it's such a shame..because it so could have been prevented..I think the problems that wrestlers have had with drugs..over the years within all the orginizations..WCW..ECW..etc.. has never really been addressed...lots of them have gotten treatment.. But the problem itself has been swept under the rug......there have been so many that have been addicted..some have succumbed...but Mr. Perfect brought us wrestling fans some great memories.. Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted March 25, 2003 It doesn't surprise me either. Yet another sad sad story of life as a professional wrestler.
Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted March 25, 2003 makes me feel alot less sympathetic toward him about his death if this is true... but still, condolences to the family.
Guest Slapnuts00 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Sad, but not a suprise. I saw his last few appearnces in NWA-TNA and he seemed quite wasted at all of them.

Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 25, 2003 About Curt Henning, I thought he was known as one of the "cleanest" Pro. Wrestlers ever, at least that what I believe I heard before.
Guest HartFan86 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 That's fucking depressing.
Guest Quik Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Don't a lot of wrestlers do blow thinking it'll improve their workrate?
Guest Brian Report post Posted March 25, 2003 They do it thinking they'll be able to ignore the pain for a little while and stride on to get where they're going. Alcohol is the same thing.
Guest mach7 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I won't believe this unless it's released in a coroner's report. Are they saying he was an addict? Or was this a one-time overdose? I could see it happening as an overdose, if he was mixing with booze as well. In my experience, most coke addicts are extremely skinny. Since it kills your apetite and acts like an extremely powerful version of speed - you pretty much never eat. Hennig didn't look like much of a coke addict to me. Guest Brian Report post Posted March 25, 2003 He doesn't look like a coke addict at all. But he is getting up there in the years and he could have just been throwing back and mixing. I assumed it was going to end up as painkillers and alcohol, just given the circumstances.
Guest evilhomer Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Slapnuts: Who is that Uncle Jesse looking guy in your sig? Unless I miss my guess I'd say it's Moondog Rex I'll believe this story when a reputable source confirms it, but if it's true, that's a damn shame. Just goes to show that nobody's immune in this business. Even the ones who look good and don't have any obvious problems can still have something going on behind closed doors. Guest Vitamin X Report post Posted March 25, 2003 from my personal experiences, all coke does is fuck you up for about 10-30 minutes and if you're an addict, it has much much more of a mental/emotional effect than it does a physical.. illusions of grandeur, delusional, etc. speed is a MUCH more powerful drug, especially in the form of crystal methamphetamine, and will make you lose your appetite, be overly alert when on it, and make irrational as well as impulsive decisions, but negatively it affects you more physically than mentally/emotionally so in conclusion, Hennig might have very well been a coke addict, not a one time overdose
Guest CoreyLazarus416 Report post Posted March 25, 2003 It's actually Moondog Spot. Half-right. Sucks that Hennig died, period, but now allegedly due to coke? Fuck...
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Unrelated topic: When are all the Curt Hennig banners going to come down? I thought it was going to be on his birthday, but they stayed up. I know you guys want to show respect, but life goes on.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 25, 2003 I expected this from X-Pac, not Hennig.
Guest Banky Report post Posted March 25, 2003 This is surprising. Everyone said how clean he was. Honestly, all wrestling deaths are drug related. Its the way it is. Whether it be from steroid, cocaine, or pain killer abuse - that is primarily what it comes down too. Truly sad. Hopefully this hasn't been the case. I don't see it on any website, so we'll see. Now that you mention it, I haven't really bothered with any other sig lately...I'll probably change it this weekend...nothing against Hennig and all, but it's just time to change it. Guest GameCop Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Meltzer confirmed it. Apparently, it wasn't an overdose; the cocaine, however, caused his heart to stop.

Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 25, 2003 Well if this is true, then hopefully the banners start coming down now since his death was drug induced. It sucks that he died, but those who kill themselves with drugs they know to be dangerous don't deserve sympathy.
Guest Big Poppa Popick Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Before i read this, Jingus and I were having lunch a week or so ago as he came through Atlanta and we got on the topic of Hennig's death, where we both had an idea through what we knew and peeps we knew it was drug-induced, probably cocaine its a damn damn shame
Guest RedJed Report post Posted March 26, 2003 Messed up to hear about this, I thought this was a case where drugs wasn't a factor here given hearing the story of how he was feeling weird even the night before, and etc. If anything I figured it was a heart condition he had but it was never diagnosed or something. Damn.

I know you guys want to show respect, but life goes on. Why the fuck does it matter to you? Hennig was one of my all time favourites and his death hit me really hard. So I chose to put a banner of him in my sig. I apologise if I offended you. I think it sucks the way Curt died but I still consider him to be one of my all time favourites. I was thinking of changing my banner to wish Regal a healthy recovery
