Edge and christian reuniting

Okay, I'm an admitted E&C mark, but quite frankly, Edge sucks in singles and Christian doesn't get much TV time.  I think most people would like to see E&C come back and make a face run and strengthen the dead tag division, but how would it happen?

 

I think the following should happen after No Way Out...

 

Edge has failed to regain his IC title at the PPV.  Christian fails to defeat DDP on Raw.  After the match, Edge runs into Christian in the back, who is throwing a fit as usual.

 

EDGE:  "Hey, man what's your problem?"

CHR:  "My problem?!?!?  My problem is that I just lost my title match!  Now get the hell away from me!"

EDGE:  "Hey whatever dude, you got no one to blame but yourself.  You blew it."

CHR:  "Like you blew your IC title shot at No Way Out?"

(crowd goes oooooo)

 

They storm off.

 

They both keep losing big matches and running into each other for the next 3 weeks.  They start feeling bad when they insult each other, start realizing that they aren't very successful, and ulitimately, Christian makes a run in during an Edge match (non-title) at Wrestlemania in Toronto.  Edge wins the match and after a tense staredown, they high five in the ring, and the old E&C music kicks in.  Crowd goes nuts, no more Rob Zombie, and there you go.

 

Course it won't happen, because Edge is what JR would call a "young stud".  Oh well.

i wouldnt count it out.

with the influx of the nWo and steiner possibly being signed, there will be a lot of singles wrestlers vying for limited tv time.  this would be a factor in favor of reuniting edge and christian, however with the impending split, both guys will be needed in the upper-midcard of one promotion, so i cant really see them reforming if they will probably break up in the near future.

They'll probably get back together sometime. IMO, Edge hasn't done shit since splitting with Christian. Sure he's won the I-C Tilte, but watching him and Regal wrestle again is boring. Since their styles clash. Christian hasn't done much either.

After they reunite, i'd still have them be a little edgey towards each other, not having as much success as they had before, but better than their singles run

for the wwf reuniting them would be like to admit "we failed" and you know it won't happen. they tried a mini-split between the hardys and it didn't catch on. Christian has heat and Edge's on his way.

 

of course, you know there's only a certain level Vince will let you on.

Eventually, but not now.  Christian is more over than Michaels was in 1992.  Michaels didn't get over until two years later, but now noone can deny it was a bad move.  They just need to push Christian.  Its the booking it has nothing to do with E&C as wrestlers.  The Hardys on the other hand do suck.

Yeah, it's the booking hurting them right now. Both guys can become stars instead of ending up like most split up tag teams, where one becomes a star and the other fades away.

It seems the WWF is not pushing Christian because they think he will take away Edge's heat.  How?  They aren't even feuding.

I'm surprised the WWF hasn't stuck Edge in tag matches with The Rock to see if The Rock can rub off more heat to him. It looked like they were going to try that with RVD (Edge & RVD teaming a few times), but never did.

If RVD can't get you over, then Rock does not have much better of a chance.

 

 It would be a smart move to reunite E&C against the Outsiders as they will need challengers and E&C would be the biggest faces since Pre-Lita Hardyz. No one will accuse WWF of failures because Edge and Christian did not work out, the majority will be happy only uptight wads like you guys will cry.

I have yet to see RVD get anyone else over but himself.  RVD is not someone who gets heat for his opponents.  The New Age Outlaws used to be the same way.  The fans cheer for him, but ignore the opponents.

RVD can't get someone over.  That someone has to be over before RVD faces him, like Austin.  RVD jobbing to Edge clean, did nothing for Edge.

 

Austin can get virtually anybody over.  People will boo the hell out of guy just because he is facing Austin.

Scott Hall was a guy who was good at getting up people over. He got X-Pac over when he was just an unknown and even started getting the guy who died in 1998 over. The one who was playing Hall's lacky in WCW, Louie Spcoley or something like that.

I'm talking about his heel period.  After he lost to Hart, his heat disappeared as he had no direction.  Horowitz got people to care about Hakushi a second time.

The lynchpin here is you can't bring E&C back as faces, they'd have to be heels. And I don't think the WWF's willing to turn Edge.

 

More than likely they'd make Christian a face, which is a BAD THING. See Angle, Kurt.

why do they have to be heels? the fans would easily accept a face-turn by christian if it meant him teaming with edge again, especially if it happened in canada.  i also dont see how christian relates to kurt, could you explain more?

E & C can work as a face team. Especially if they bring back their 5 second pose and act the way they did as heels. Watching them make fun of Hall & Nash can be priceless.

Making Christian a face will kill his personality. It certainly killed Edge's.

 

Edge/Christian as faces early in their career were very droll. It wasn't until they split from the Hardyz that they started to develop as a team and have their own little quirks and personas. If they were brought back as faces, they'd just be like Dynamic Dudes 2002, happy Canadian surfer dudes who are fun guys who like to have fun. As horrible a notion as that may seem.

 

E&C as good guys reeks of heinosity.

After thinking about some more, if E & C were to team against Hall & Nash they might be the heels when they weren't supposed too. Since Hall & Nash will probably end up playing the "cool heel". Or E & C could be tweeners.
