Guest Trivia247 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 WWE GROWING INTERNATIONALLY. WWE announced today they have secured new television deals in Japan & Germany. Andrew Whitaker, Senior Vice President and Managing Director of International Television for WWE announced the historic deals earlier todady. For the first time in the history of WWE they have territorial deals in Germany & Japan. WWE sold Smackdown to Tele5 in Germany (1 hour version for 52 weeks). Tele5 is part of the Telemunchen Family and reaches 29 million viewers in Germany. WWE also renewed their deal with Premiere to carry RAW, Heat, Bottom Line, Velocity and Confidential and has for the first time launched a PPV platform through Premiere to show all 12 PPV events annually on German television. (Editor's Note: This is good for WWE because now if they choose to tour Germany they will have a better chance of drawing better attendance records.) WWE sold Smackdown to Fuji Tv in Japan (1 hour version for 52 weeks). WWE also just renewed a 10 hour per week deal with Fuji Tv for the next three years. RAW, Heat, Smackdown, Velocity, Confidential and other WWE programs will be aired in Japan. WWE also launched a PPV platform in the Japanese market with Sky Perfect Tv to air all 12 of the PPV events on Japanese television annually. (Editor's Note: Again this is great news for WWE because they plan on making Japan a regular stop on their international tours and now they have a direct outlet to draw in Japanese fans to the product.) I think it would be pretty cool to see a Raw from another country (granted, it would have to be either taped or take place earlier/later in the day from where they shoot it from). Or a Smackdown from another country would be interesting--they tape it anyway.

You obviously haven't seen many indy wrestlers. Those bastards are likely to fuck up a collar and elbow tie-up.

There are indy wrestlers who are horrible. This person just doesn't know bad talent when he sees it.

Apologies if my answer was in the topic post, but I opted out of that on grounds it was likely to be hellishly boring. Well, I just hope they announce an equal deal for Mexico. We only got Raw.
