Guest Blackston Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Quick question. I just picked up the Wind Waker, but haven't started it yet. The problem is that I haven't played OoT, and I understand that the Wind Waker's plot takes certain aspects of the plot of Oot. I got the bonus disk, and am slowly working through it (actually, Metroid Prime is first on my list to knock off). Should I forget about OoT, and rely on the Wind Waker to make sense to me on its own merits, or should I resist the urge to play the Wind Waker right now, so that I can enjoy the game to it's potential. Guest jimmy no nose Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I don't think you really have to play OOT, after a little while in Wind Waker everything will make sense to you.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Dude, if you got the preorder disc, play OoT first. If you didnt, uh..go steal someones.. I would have to say that the game is not even %50 of itself if you didnt play OoT.
Guest Downhome Report post Posted March 30, 2003 Ummm, I just realized that I'm almost at the end of the f'n game. This is one short as hell Zelda game, it is for me anyhow. I haven't used a guide for ANYTHING yet, and already I'm coming up on the "home stretch". I will say that there have been quite a few moments here near the end that have allowed for my jaw dropping, and to just love it like hell. Some of my favorite things EVER in video games have taken place, so I'm not complaining. I wish they hadn't rushed this game, I really do. If you are not aware, there were two dungens which they decided to not put in this game, in order to release it sooner. I love this game, one of my favorites ever, but it's just too damn short. Oh well, I'm having a great ass time, so it's alright for now... ...they just better hurry and get the sequel out soon! It's coming, to the GC, and it will not be as long as some thing, just like the new Mario game they are working on. I think I'm going to TOTALLY cease my playing WW's main storyline, and complete EVERY side story before I continue this "home stretch". I must make this last longer, I must! Guest RenegadeX28 Report post Posted March 30, 2003 This game refers to the OOT storyline a few times. Well, Ganon destroys Hyrule after returning... The Deku Tree, it has to be the seedling that grew over time. There are probably more, but I forget them.
Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted March 31, 2003 I am currently renting this game. And I am very-very impressed. I like the feel of the game. Very easy to pick up. A definate must own for any Game Cube owners and Zelda fans alike.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted March 31, 2003 Well...Im about 6/10's done, but after the grueling Wind and Earth dungeons (mainly due to having to have a second character to worry about..) that took me 2 + hours a piece to beat, I think Im gonna go finish up the stuff on Windfall Island and the other side quests as well. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I'm stuck in the Temple of the Gods, but I love this game. Better than OoT? No. Best game in a long fucking time? Yes.
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I havent played in a couple days, somewhat due to the fact that I just got 2 new games (NBA and NFL 2k3 for $20 total at TRU) but also because I didnt want to play it through in a week. Also up there is the fact that sailing around looking for stuff is not really so much fun, although I cant do anything more until I search every last island for stuff.. Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 6, 2003 NBA 2K3 AND NFL 2K3 for just $20?! Is there some sort of sale or something?
Guest MarvinisaLunatic Report post Posted April 6, 2003 NBA 2K3 AND NFL 2K3 for just $20?! Is there some sort of sale or something? Yeah, Toys R Us had them on sale this week. I didn't find out until today about it. I don't know if the sale will still be on tomorrow ( I doubt it, but my TRU had a big bin full of em, so they might extend the sale). The PS2 and X Box versions of NFL2k3 were also on sale, but NBA2k3 was only on sale for the Cube, and they also had NCAA2k3 onsale for the XBox and PS2. $9.99 each for all platforms. Of course the regular price was only $14.99, but 2 games for $20 was kinda hard to pass up. I should have gotten a memory card because they both eat up memory cards (glad I have a 251).. Guest EQ Report post Posted April 6, 2003 I'm literally ready to beat Wind Waker now, but I'm going to explore all my charts and get as many hearts as I can before I go fight the final boss.
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Just rented Wind Waker, and I'm seriously disappointed. No, not with the game you twits. With myself. I judged the game on the Cel-Shadings instead of playing the game in its actuallity. The graphics rock and everything about the game is great. Funny as hell too~! But I don't mind Link being a kid as this kid rocks. Although, I still don't get how the kid becomes a mighty Swordsman from just whiddling away with the Stabber (yes, that's what I named the first sword I got, bite me). However, I kinda now have this problem though. I got this idea of how they could build off of this into the next Zelda game, kinda weird but meh.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 6, 2003 You only rented Wind Waker?! *shakes head in shame*
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 6, 2003 Well, considering I had a free rental I decided to test it out before I buy. Cause I'm BROKE~!
Guest EQ Report post Posted April 7, 2003 I don't mind Link being a kid as this kid rocks. So far, the most badass Kid Link ever has got to be Majora's Mask Link.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 7, 2003 (edited) No way. Grown up Link in OoT owned. EDIT: Oops.. you two were talking about Kid Link. Oh well. Edited April 7, 2003 by Flyboy
Guest Lightning Flik Report post Posted April 7, 2003 No way. Grown up Link in OoT owned. EDIT: Oops.. you two were talking about Kid Link. Oh well. Personally, I would've liked to have had the Link from Zelda Gaiden, but Gaiden was scraped and remade into Waker. Hopefully, I'll get to play the true "Adult" Link sometime in a Zelda game. And OoT's Link was grown up, yes; but he was more of just getting out of teens into adulthood. I'd like a true blue adult Link for just one time. And maybe give that Link the cockiness of the original Zelda cartoon. Cause that'd rock.
Guest EQ Report post Posted April 7, 2003 I always thought Gaiden was what they were calling Majora's Mask before they decided on the actual name. I'm probably wrong though, because I didn't pay much attention.
Conspiracy_Victim 0 Report post Posted April 7, 2003 And maybe give that Link the cockiness of the original Zelda cartoon. Cause that'd rock. Well EXCUUUUUUUUUUUUUSE ME, Princess! Man I laughed every time he said that. I always wondered what it would be like if Link was a smartass in the games. "What, I gotta go rescue Zelda AGAIN? Man, is she hanging out at biker bars or something?" Or, better yet, Link voiced by Bruce Campbell. Oh man, I think I just soiled myself thinking about it.
