Guest treble charged Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 More hurt players. This is getting to be crazy. Gilmour, Roberts, Housley, and now Wesley, Renberg, and Green are all injured and probably won't be back before 2 weeks time (except for maybe Roberts, who may play on Saturday). I think if one (or more) of Nolan, Sundin, Mogilny, or Belfour gets hurt, I may have to kill someone. Add to this the constant blowing of leads (they've scored first in something like 7 straight games, but have only won 2 of them) and all I can hope for is that they're lulling Philly into a false sense of security before the playoffs start, because this is getting to be insane.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 It's interesting that two of the Eastern teams that made the most moves at the deadline are playing each other in the first round (Philly and TO, with Ottawa being the third) ... seems like one of the two is going to be gravely disappointed with a first round elimination. Damn, TC, your boys BETTER be just playing possum to fool Philly. There are few teams that I hate more than them, and would LOVE to see Bobby C. walk away empty-handed yet again.
Guest CanadianChris Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Belfour's going to have to pull a Patrick Roy circa 1993 for the Leafs to have any shot whatsoever against the Flyers.

Guest starvenger Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Is it too much to hope that Toronto will finish 6th instead? I'm just being selfish here, since it'd be easier to get playoff tickets in Tampa or Washington than Philly or Jersey.
Guest bob_barron Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I was thinking the same thing- I'd rather TML fall down one notch and get the easier 1st round opponent. But they can take Philly

I have a friend that has had season tickets there for a few years, and says that sellouts are not an issue. As a Bruins fan, I'm hoping for a Boston-NJ matchup in the first round. I think that the B's have a better chance against Ottawa, but couldn't drive all the way there for a game or two ... NJ isn't too far away, so could make the drive pretty easily.
Guest CanadianChris Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 I think that the B's have a better chance against Ottawa That's funny...I was thinking I'd rather the Sens face Boston than the Islanders. Bruins have NO shot against Ottawa with that two-headed monster in goal. They might average 5 goals against for the series.

Leafs have a BRUTAL finishing schedule (@NYI, Wsh, @NJ, Min, Ott), while the Capitals (@Ott, @Tor, Fla, Ott, Pit) at least have two very winnable games against the Panthers and Penguins. The Caps-Leafs game on Saturday could very well tell the tale.

Bruins have NO shot against Ottawa with that two-headed monster in goal. They might average 5 goals against for the series. With the "stellar" goaltending that I've gotten to enjoy since December, I'm stoked to even have the Bruins make the playoffs. They're coming around though ... it's not the nightly shelling it was for a while there. If either Shields or Hackett can play halfway decent, we certainly have the firepower to win a few games. The only Eastern team that's scored more than the B's is the Sens, so if we end up playing each other, both would have to hope to win games by scores of 4-2, 4-3, 5-3, etc. And if you'd rather play the Bruins than the Isles, you're nuts. Including that asskicking that they put on the Hawks the other night, the Isles have a losing record in their last 10 games. Their goaltending isn't that much better than the "two headed monster" and they don't have nearly the offensive capabilities to match Thornton, Murray, and Knuble.
Guest redbaron51 Posted March 26, 2003 Report Posted March 26, 2003 Phili isn't that hard of a team. Like St. Louis, they some how fall apart in the playoffs

Guest Banky Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Damnit! Now the Leafs have an excuse for not winning the cup. They would have lost first round regardless. Nolan is the only guy on the team worth a damn.

Guest DerangedHermit Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 Nolan might be hurt. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA!
Guest bob_barron Posted March 29, 2003 Report Posted March 29, 2003 His back just tightened up- He'll be fine
Guest CanadianChris Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Shayne Corson has colitis? That can't be good.
Guest DerangedHermit Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 Here's what colitis is. Sucks to be Shayne Corson, even though he's a Leaf.
Guest nl5xsk1 Posted March 30, 2003 Report Posted March 30, 2003 I know a few people that have colitis ... with medication and watching your diet, its nothing bad at all. Having said that, I guess that when it's bad, it's VERY bad.

Sucks to be Shayne Corson, even though he's a Leaf. and here I thought you'd make a joke about intestinal fortitude... Seriously, the testing for colitis seems bad enough... Signs and tests Colitis may be identified on flexible sigmoidoscopy or colonoscopy (In both of these tests, a flexible tube is inserted in the rectum and specific areas of the colon are evaluated). Biopsies taken during these tests may show changes related to inflammation. Other studies that can identify colitis include: - Barium enema - Abdominal CT scan - Abdominal MRI - Abdominal X-ray

Guest redbaron51 Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Quit yer bitchin... Habs had 480 man game injuries last year, and still went to the second round... Just hope that Belfour doesn't get an injury, or a first round exit is gonna happen. And excuses...Ha. Every year there is an excuse
Guest starvenger Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 Just hope that Belfour doesn't get an injury, or a first round exit is gonna happen. That much is true. Trevor Kidd can't carry the Leafs very far. And excuses...Ha. Every year there is an excuse Speaking of which, I wonder what Ottawa's excuse will be when they choke... again.

The only choking that will be done by the Sens this year is choking on the champagne they're sipping from Lord Stanley's cup.
Guest bob_barron Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 I will say this- Judging by the results of the last three playoffs- the Sens are probably better at golf then Toronto.
Guest redbaron51 Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 judging by results also. Toronto can't play hockey in late may
Guest bob_barron Posted April 5, 2003 Report Posted April 5, 2003 Unlike the Habs- We play hockey in late may
