Guest Report post Posted March 21, 2002 I would like to begin by saying that I am new to the message board and that this is my first official post. I have been reading your comments for the past few days and would like to add a few of my own. I am a huge Triple H fan and have been for quite sometime. I still mark out for him and everything. I know that this probably qualifies me for a spot on a lot of your 'must ignore' lists judging by a lot of the rants that I have read recently. I am not going to attempt to sway the opinions of any of the posters on this board however. I seriously doubt that I could even if I were willing to try. I would like to point out something that I have noticed that noone else has mentioned yet. Everyone seems to be rather high on Chris Jericho at the moment. I am not a huge fan of his, but I actually was pulling for him to win the Undisputed Championship on the night that he eventually did so. I thought that his title reign was actually running quite smoothly until he ran abreast (pun intended) of Stephanie. A lot of you have been quick to point out that Stephanie drained most of (if not all of) the heat that Jericho had drummed up. I agree with that as well. Now on to my point. Everyone seems to think that Triple H cannot gain heat as a champion. I have seen a lot of posts claiming that stadiums fall silent when he enters. I have a theory for this (which will probably prove to be unpopular but I am going to let it roll anyway). Granted, Triple H has not been as exciting to watch in the ring since his return. He has been a bit slower due to his injury. Granted, he works much better as a heel then as a babyface. I disagree with statements that claim he cannot draw heat though. Does anyone remember his first night back? Madison Square Garden went nuts. Remember his subsequent appearance on Smackdown? The place erupted. Remember when he walked down the aisle to face Stonecold at the Royal Rumble? The crowd went insane. Remember when he went on to win the Rumble? He got a killer pop. When he came out on Raw after having won the Undisputed Championship the crowd went off. I think this qualifies as heat. Is he as over as he could be? Most definitely not. I think that the reason for this should be quite clear. Stephanie is draining his heat as well. Notice how none of the moments that I mentioned above involved Stephanie? If she is capable of drawing heat off of Jericho why would the same not be possible with Triple H? Granted, some of you may point out the Main Event at Wrestlemania and claim that the crowd was dead for it, but, come on. Even I could not get up for my boy after Rock and Hogan put on that show. After I watched it for a second time though, I did notice that Trips recieved a bigger pop then I remembered after he won. I know that if you hate the man I am not going to be able to change your opinions. I do think that you are being a trifle harsh towards him though. I realize that he took the straps off of Jericho who was a young up and coming star. Just give the man a chance though. If all goes well, Stephanie should be out of his program after Raw. See if he can draw heat then. If not I will kindly retract my statement. I dig the board and am looking forward to participating in its posts. Cheers all. Guest TheHulkster Report post Posted March 21, 2002 Yeah, some people can be rough on HHH. He over, he's paid his dues, and he's a pretty good worker. Granted, he needs a couple months to get back into form. I don't think austin got reamed this bad when he was stinking up arenas after he came back from injury. Ah well, to each his own. Welcome to the boards.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 21, 2002 I don't like HHH as a face, but he needs a face run. When Steph comes on I turn over no matter who she's with. HHH needs to keep the belt past Backlash and hopefully everyone will have got into him as a face by then. Of the top talent he's the only one in his prime (Rock and Jericho are a few years off theirs, Angle,RVD and Benoit are technically mid-carders, Austin, Hogan, Taker, the Outsiders and Flair.....). If he can make a go of it as a face there is no reason to have a go at him as he deserves what he gets. If not he makes a great heel. If he carries on as a face despite not getting over, he's an arsehole.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Report post Posted March 21, 2002 I think a big reason why people have been complaining is that his matches have been poor compared to some of the great ones he's had in the past.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 21, 2002 HHH should have had heat BEFORE he won the title. Not worrying about gaining some after.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Report post Posted March 21, 2002 HHH has heat, just not World Title heat.
Guest Some Guy Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Kahran Ramsus is right, the guy is "over" he just isn't world title level over right now. He is upper-mid-card over IMO. If he were still acting heelish despite being a face then he would probably be world champ over. But he hasn't gotten into the typical WWF "watered down face". It seems to me that Hall is closer to being his old self after fewer matches and more time off then HHH is, granted HHH was a much better worker than Hall. Guest notJames Report post Posted March 22, 2002 HHH has heat, just not World Title heat. Which is probably most people's bone of contention now that he has the belt.

Welcome to the boards. Austin didn't take this long to get back in shape AND he didn't get the title until then either. But you have to remember HHH is INTENSE~! Guest Report post Posted March 22, 2002 >>>He's supposed to be over BEFORE the World title win...<<< I thought we were talking about HHH, not Chris Jericho. Ahhh, I remember people being so happy when he won the titles, but he was less over than HHH. The hypocracy of smarks.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Jericho was super hot after No Mercy and Survivor Series due to his feud with the Rock. Jericho was also over through Vengeance, Rumble and No Way Out. Then he ran into Stephanie. Don't recreate history.

Guest Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I think that Triple H was more over when he first returned then he was by the time Wrestlemania rolled around. He lost heat as his program progressed, due, in large part by my estimation, to the involvement of Stephanie. I do agree that he is not recieving World Title face pops right now though. I think that he was before Stephanie became involved in his storyline however. I am sticking to my guns on this one. Wait until after Raw and see what happens. As for his suffering workrate...hopefully he will whip himself into shape sooner rather then later. The quality of his match content now is suffering even more for the fact that he used to have some killer matches. Comparison can be a nasty mistress. All I can do is hope that he will come around before the titles he holds are rendered a laughing stock. Of course, Stephanie might take care of that before he can if things do not go well on Monday. "I thought we were talking about HHH, not Chris Jericho. Ahhh, I remember people being so happy when he won the titles, but he was less over than HHH. The hypocracy of smarks." This would explain why I read a few posts claiming that Triple H could only gain face heat by taking cheap shots at Stephanie without ever mentioning that Jericho launched himself into main event feuds with Triple H and elevated himself to top face status by doing the same thing. I just chalk it up to the fact that some people allow their emotional attachment to a wrestler cloud their logic at times. I plead guilty to doing the same thing on numerous occassions. As a side note, the word is hypocrisy. No offense intended. My obsessive compulsive disorder tends to get the best of me when it comes to spelling errors. Guest Kinetic Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Throughout his title reign, Jericho was about as over Triple H is right now. In any case, titles should be used as vehicles to get people more over than they currently are. Otherwise, it'd just get passed between Rock and Austin every few months. Triple H needs the title to get to where the WWF wants him, since they obviously feel that he's the man to lead the company.
Guest muzanisa Report post Posted March 22, 2002 Triple H's title reign is one of the few instances of WWf using long term booking (I wonder why). In that respect he should be given the chance to run with it as the constant hot shotting screws up the whole product. Jericho's title reign was Ronnie Garvined by no main eventer being beaten clean. I liked Angle's heel run with the belt but don't want a rehash and he's still too goofy to play a monster heel champ. Undertaker, Austin, Rock and Hogan wouldn't do anything for the belt. Everyone else is at the same or lower level than trips. So either Benoit comes back as a monster, gets over and gets the belt or give HHH a fair run (two months min) as Champ. Guest Rick001 Report post Posted March 22, 2002 I hate HHH the way he is now, I hate him as the game I hate him as the man "with his own pyro" he has a comfy position on Vince's ass he has hate that since WM 15 when he turned heel. Triple H as he is now is really, really bad. I LIKED Triple H whenhe was the silly, DX, funny guy hosing you down with a super soaker. When he acprecaited the fans and had to work for what he got. When he had more than his lame as #### knee lift. When he has decent midcard matches as opposed to his lame as #### matches he has now.
