Rajah is reporting that some in WWE are getting the impression that the Angle/Lesnar match will end with Team Angle turning on Kurt and injuring him... turning him face in the process, with Lesnar possibly chasing Team Angle off afterward

 

This is a scenario that I was thinking about when I first heard about Angle's surgery and I may or may not have mentioned it here. I can't remember, but if I were booking it, I would have Brock beat Kurt cleanly, and then have a mutual showing of respect... shake hands, play to the crowd... essentially the Hogan/Rock ending from Mania 18, with Team Angle running down, taking out Brock first and then injuring Angle so that he has an instant feud when he comes back (if he comes back)

Yes.. that is the ticket. Insta-1-year-later-Feud. That way if the fans REMEMBER this and also if Benjamin and/or Hass is anywhere near a top level star it would make sense.

 

But that isn't going to happen.

 

Perhaps they should just have him get injured by Brock (perhaps unintentionally) and then when he gets back have a you know... MAIN EVENT FEUD.

I'm all for Team Angle turning on Kurt. First off... with Kurt gone they need a good excuse to stop calling themselves Team Angle... if Kurt and Brock do the mutual showing of respect, then you can make Kurt a mega babyface in a matter of 15 seconds. Haas and Benjamin turn on Angle and you have the opportunity to make two pretty over heels into mega heels.

I'd have Cena come in and accidently hit Angle during a fair and competitive match at WM thus costing him the title. That way they wouldn't give away a clean finish until Angle comes back, plus it cements Cena as the #1 heel.

I'd have Brock win clean, then the entire Heyman stable comes down and destroys Angle for losing, followed by Brock coming out and cleaning house...then Brock/Angle walk off together. They really don't need to injure Kurt....just play it up as a neck injury.

but I'm excited for his upcoming push. I never got all the "cena hate" that infested this board for months. The guy is pretty damn good... it's just that some here want every rookie to automatically have the skills of Benoit upon arrival, and if he doesn't, then they are branded as "wastes of time"

Cena is great, but I still can't buy him as a #1 heel...Same as I can't buy Benoit as #1 face either...

 

I guess Hope that Brock of course wins at Mania...Cena stays out of the match...Brock does a Interview on SMD and Cena comes out and justs blasts Lesnar with insults...Lesnar chases after him...can't catch him. At the end of the show...BOOM! Lesnar's walking around looking for Cena...he saunters into a room...THUD. the door shuts and the lights turn off...sounds of a struggle. Lights return...Lesnar is laying in a Pool of his blood...Cena walks out of the bathroom...we see him wiping off blood from his hands...Cena leans into Lesnar's face and slaps softly and chuckles and throws a insult.

 

Next Week, Lesnar's is banged up with an Concussion and Bruised Ribs. The Doctors have deemed him unfit to wrestle. Cena is cutting a Promo essitantlly calling Lesnar a Punk Bitch. Lesnar rushes in pain after Cena but BOOM! TeamAngle! Has returned! They blindside Lesnar and they abuse him some more...Cena shakes Haas and Benjamin's hands as they go away.

 

The Next week, Stephanie threatens to Suspend Cena without Pay for 6 months if he attacks or does anything directly involving Lesnar. Lesnar demands a Match with Cena at Backlash...Stephanie grants him one but it's non scantioned...

 

Lesnar and Cena have a Brawl at Backlash that merely leads to a No Contest. They continue to fued until Judgement Day when Lesnar FINALLY cleanly gets over Cena.

 

Then It ought to be Lesnar Vs Benoit for the next 3 months climaxing in a Face Vs. Face showdown at Summer Slam with Benoit winning the title. Benoit holds it until October when he jobs to Random "Monster" Heel...

True. I remember when Team Angle debuted, people had a hard-on for them pretty much solely because they were with Angle.

 

I don't understand how anyone could hate him as a heel. He's not great in the ring, but he's not bad enough to be hated just for that. The good guy character wasn't too hot, but even he had his moments, like when he was involved in a slap (giving and/or receiving) almost every week for the six he was on TV. And who can forget the cocky "thatclose" gesture?

 

I swear, Cena on the mike is the highlight of Smackdown for me right now. When he releases that album I heard about, I'm buying it. Why, he's even better than Baby AKA #1 Stunna The Birdman (Brrrrrr ... What Happened to tha Boy!)!

If you'll read my post a little more carefully, you'll note that I mentioned the Cena hate that infested the board for months... I didn't say currently. Cena was a very very hated person on this board before he started the rapping gimmick

Yeah people liked Cena when he came in "The New Sting" but then he started getting a push and then it was all "Fuck That Bitch!" then he kind of went away and came with the Rap Gimmick...It was fun for us at first because it was merely a Midcard heel gimmick that we naturally be another Wrestle Crap inductee...Then, Something went wrong...It got over. Alot. So now, we just hate the guy...

I hate heels and faces. I hate the fakeness of wrestling (not that it is fake...but that the WWE continues to pretend we don't know that despite telling us themselves).

 

I hate whatever forces lead to one of the biggest stars in the world not being able to go into WrestleMania explaning that he will be competing with a very real neck injury so that the people who don't know it can respect and understand the moment for what it is...and that's not making super-Brock look more Super.

Actually if you look back at it...Almost ALL of the Mania Mains have had some sort of interference....

 

WM1- Didn't Orton and Snuka get involved?

Wm4-Hogan dropped in on The title match

WM7-General Aidian HAD to interfer (I might be wrong)

WM8-Both of them, The title was match was 18 minutes of Henning interfering...and Shango/Whippleman for the Final Match.

WM9-Mr. Fugi with the salt

WM11-The title Match "the wrestling Main" had Sid's interference.

WM15-About A bunch of them

WM2000-All Interference

WM17-Vince

WM18-I don't recall most of it but I'm sure Stephanie got involved...

I would play it out with the clean finish, mutual show of respect. Team Angle the next night (SmackDown) sets him up but doesn't actually do the deed. Work the possibilities from there and it sets up Brock's first opponent.
