Monitor Trouble

I don't know what happened or what caused it, but my monitor just isn't working right. Its hard to describe the problem, but I'll try. Some things make the monitor streak dark lines, like on TSM, where it says "The boards are up, running, upgraded and improved...or at least I'd hope so. Any concerns, take them to Site Feedback - Dames", a dark horizontal line is behind it too that extends across the screen. I tried downloading a new video driver, but that didn't work. I don't know what to do now.

Here are some pictures that may be helpful in showing what my monitor looks like, but I don't know if they will show up the same way they show up for me: http://members.rogers.com/chigga23/images/monitor.jpg http://members.rogers.com/chigga23/images/monitor2.jpg

Looks fine to me. Are you letting the page fully load before scrolling or anything?

Its not just the website, its everything that's wierd. I think its my video card or driver thats screwed up because I tried this monitor on my old computer and everything is fine on that.

Perhaps your videocard is overheating? Uninstall the video card drivers competely then reinstall.

How do I uninstall my video card?

The drivers you uninstall through the Device Manager. Go Start->Settings->Control Panel-> System and then its either the Device Manager tab is you use 9x or Hardware Tab and then Device Manager button if you use 2000/XP.

Can you try hooking up another monitor to the computer? It sounds like what happened to me a couple of years ago. I started having streaks going through the screen. It got worse, eventually stopped working off and on and I had to get a new monitor.

Uninstalling my driver didn't work.

Lethargic: I tried using the monitor on another computer and it worked fine for it. Do you think it could still be the monitor's problem though?

I'd try a different monitor on your computer to see if the same thing happens. I'd also try using another cord. Could be a short in the cord between the PC and monitor or something.
