My opinion of you just rose 100000%.

Whilst I've heard he does too many pixies covers (not that gouge away isn't INCREDIBLE live) and not enough solo stuff in his recent shows, when I saw him around the release of 'Dog in the Sand' it was the best gig I have ever been to.

Considering I really only know him through the Pixies, I wouldn't complain. Plu, I couldn't consider him playing Pixies songs as being covers...since you know, he wrote them all.

But you're a music snob, I don't expect anything better from you.

What's that? I didn't hear you; I was too busy filing my collection of electronic gypsy music.

sht, that would be the only reason to see frank black... to hear his voice on the excellent pixies songs. his solo material has been ho-hum to say the least.

Yeah, but Stevie Wonder's post-70s work is crappy.

hey! the theme from the outsiders was a bit maudlin BUT an enjoyable tune nonetheless. just saying.

He did Headache when I saw him. That really surprised me. I love all the solo stuff really, 'Cult of Ray' was average but there is great stuff on all the others. I'm not complaining about the pixies covers btw, but I've always thought people unfairly dismissed his solo work because they instantly compared it to the classic shit of the pixies, whereas it's really quite good on it's own. It's a different style of music. Whatever he plays it'll kick ass.
