Guest Kotzenjunge Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I was at Best Buy on Wednesday, and they had a whole damn shelf section with nothing but that album. Didn't really notice many being gone though. I laughed. I hope they pull a Limp Bizkit and gradually flop instead of a sudden flop. That's much more fun to watch. God, I hate early teens and their musical tastes these days. I can't talk to ANY of them anymore without getting into a fight when they tell me how (insert band here) really feels and knows what they're going through and all that crap. I never said that shit about any band when I was their age.
Guest FeArHaVoC Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I know exactly what you mean. I wanted to choke these kids last year at a Sevendust Concert. Talking to these younger kids and their like, "Dude, Sevendust are the best Metal band EVER." Me; "you should have seen bands like Iron Maiden, Old School Metallica, Megadeth, Overkill, etc,." Kid; "no way, Sevendust is way better." Me; "How can you compare if you never seen or heard of them." Kid; Blah blah blah, "Bands like Limp Bizkit and Blink SUCK" Me; "Um, when the fuck did I say I was a fan of them?" Kid; "Oh. Well, Iron Maiden sucks and they aren't even metal. Their just 80's hair bands." ::Walks away::

I never said that shit about any band when I was their age. I'm always lecturing about the music kids listen to, cause I've got a brother that age, but I've never noticed this before. It's true. I never said anything like that at that age. If you really want kids to see things your way, just call whatever music they listen to gay. They run like the plauge from anything with even a remote hint of gay.
Guest Galactic Gigolo Report post Posted March 29, 2003 The whole thing with bands like Sevendust, Coal Chamber, etc. are that their music is a lot different than Iron Maiden and Overkill. I personally enjoy Dust and Chamber more, simply because their music seems to have a much more "real" feel to it and for the most part, a lot of their stuff they do is more emotional. : : rids memory of "Shock the Monkey" for that statement : :
Guest Zero_Cool Report post Posted March 29, 2003 You know, I'll admit, I liked Hybrid Theory a good bit..of course, this was two years ago. I got the thing for free before it even came out on a zip disk from my brother's work. Eh, some guy had record company connections. Right now, I'm pretty apathetic towards them, because they are over exposed no matter what, and their fans need to listen to expand their palette and listen to something that may be just a bit more "deeper". Just me, or did the net backlash really start firing up after they came out with "Crawling"?
Guest Incandenza Report post Posted March 29, 2003 Just me, or did the net backlash really start firing up after they came out with "Crawling"? Was there ever a big net fanbase for this band, outside of those who would be inclined to listen to this type of music?
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I have two friends that are big Linkin Park fans and they played the new CD for me. Ugh......what a bunch of crap! Every song got worse as the album kept playing. I found myself asking why they liked it so much? Of course one of them is also an Avril fan so I wouldn't say they had good taste to begin with. Guest LJSexay Report post Posted March 29, 2003 The new album is growing on me. Definitely harder than the first and second albums, but still good after you go through the album and really listen to the music. I didn't like it at all at first, to be honest. This coming from a big LP fan too.
LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2003 I ended up listening to it quite a bit while around these friends and I'm just not into the screaming and stuff. A little wailing or louder singing is okay with me and maybe the occasional scream. Linkin Park songs just seem to get stale with me way too quick.
Guest Midnight Express83 Report post Posted March 30, 2003 I am a big LP fan, I will admit that. But people come on, it just music. I like their stuff because it sounds good, catchy beats, and lyrics are good. Not that I can relate to them or anything but I find them good. I ordered the new CD and it should be here soon. But from what I heard, it isn't bad.
Guest hardyz1 Report post Posted March 30, 2003 I've listened to it twice, and right now I think it's good, but not as good as Hybrid Theory. Did someone say Sevendust?
Guest swan Report post Posted March 31, 2003 Wait, what about Korn? Korn is considered by some to be the godfathers of "Nu-Metal". There last album, which hit costs of 1 milllion plus, barely broke the 1 million mark in sales. I heard 1.2 million. I find it funny LP comes in and almost matches Korns year plus sales in one week. LaParkaYourCar 0 Report post Posted March 31, 2003 Too me their new album sounds just like their first album. Except a little more screaming, which tends to just turn me off to it.
