Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 That fat toad thing is Christian?
Guest Anglesault Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 It's supposed to be! Stop mocking my avatar! It's not my fault it's not INTENSE~! like yours!
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Until his matches get better, the smarks are naturally going to give him a hard time. I really hope they will...but the rumoured Undertaker feud isn't going to help any.
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 and the point is that he isn't over.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 That avatar is Christian on roids, surely?
Guest Anglesault Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Damnit! Stop making fun of my Christian avatar! Or at least find me a Kurt!
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 No, he isn't over. I was just trying to be a little positive. But IMO he's fifth most over face at the moment, behind Rock, Austin, Hogan and RVD. I can't think of any other time when someone in that position has been champion.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 I've never seen an Angle avatar. That'd be cool. I take back the roids remark actually. It looks more like he's been eating at McDonalds every meal for the past year.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 STOP IT! Hey, Jericho can't run for President, let's all mock Jerry's sig!
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Some joke about Jericho and George Dubya both choking.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Well, W choked on a pretzel and Jericho choked at Mania and stuff. hahahahaha. Did that come off as bad to you too?
Guest notJames Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 No, he isn't over. I was just trying to be a little positive. But IMO he's fifth most over face at the moment, behind Rock, Austin, Hogan and RVD. I can't think of any other time when someone in that position has been champion. Big Show was transitional Champ from late 1999 to early 2000, and I can't even recall him being remotely over to warrant the title. It was probably HHH's fault.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 That's kinda what I was going for. I wonder if Dubya watches WWF. I bet he's a Hogan mark.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Ah , I forgot about Big Shows thrilling title run. HHH is about as mobile as him at the moment, ironically.
Guest Mystery Eskimo Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 No, definetly not. Maybe the Pedigree should be renamed the INTENSIFIER or sumthin, I dunno.
Guest notJames Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 But Big Show isn't as INTENSE~! No, but he's definitely as METHODICAL~!!!
Guest JerryDrake Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 STOP IT! Hey, Jericho can't run for President, let's all mock Jerry's sig! Yes he can damnit, he was born in New York. You just bitter cus my avatar isnt a fat verison Christian. And you wanna talking about choking, Christian choked, not once BUT TWICE! TWICE! HE GOT PINNED BY FREAKING MAVEN! And look at Angle, on RAW he gets beat by a pretty boy. I think i win the agurement!
Guest Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 HHH ended Big Show's incredible title run. If HHH just would have jobbed that early January day, maybe Show would have gotten over with a lengthy title run. Oh, that HHH and his politics... #### him and his INTENSITY...
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 That's not funny because you give those of us that reply with actual facts a bad name. Big Show lost the title because McMahon was not confident in his drawing ability. It is chronicled in Foley is good.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 hey anglesault, why dont you reduce the size of that avatar, it looks *nasty* at the moment. and trips wasnt to blame for shows short reign, that was entirely due to show being shit, as bps said.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 In all fairness to The Big Slow, he was feuding with the Bossman for chrissakes. That would kill any momentum a wrestler has.
Guest Kahran Ramsus Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 That and the constant face/heel turns. He debuted as a heel at St. Valentine's Day Massacre, turned face at Wrestlemania, turned heel after Fully Loaded, and turned face after Taker got injured. Had they given him the title during his peak of popularity in June, the fans would have been more receptive to it.
Guest godthedog Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 getting back on topic for a moment, here's what i think: the face turn did make perfect sense. back in 2000, the fans were BEGGING to cheer for him, and for his short run as a semi-face he got big reactions from the crowd. however, he was more over as a face when he was acting like a heel. i don't think it's his sub-par match quality that's made him not as over as he should be; casual fans don't tend to notice things like that (see hogan and undertaker). it's the fact that he's just acting too much like a face. compared to 2000, he's a little pussy goody-good, & people don't want to cheer somebody like that. they want to cheer an evil, intense bad ass (which is what he was in 2000). and not only do the fans WANT him as a heel, trips just doesn't seem comfortable NOT being a heel. he's said (if i remember correctly) that he prefers being a heel, & it seems that he's just having to try way to hard to get the fans to cheer for him. if he just worries about doing what he's most comfortable with, i think he'd be over like mad (cause he has cut some great promos, despite current evidence to the contrary).
Guest Brian Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 Back to the original topic, the WWF totally dropped the ball on HHH's return push. He could have probably been the most over face in the company, but they blew it. I'm not going to compare him with Hogan until they get back in the US, because he wasn't getting nearly that reaction a week earlier.
Guest goodhelmet Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 (and I thought the topic was Anglesault's avatar) it also doesn't help him when he jobs to Booker T who has absolutely zero cred as a main eventer
Guest bps "The Truth" 21 Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 How did they blow it? I chronicled his return push in another thread and people agreed that if a guy people wanted to see got that kind of push they would be super over. HHH is not a likeable guy. Thus he should be a heel.
Guest The Vanilla Midget Posted March 22, 2002 Report Posted March 22, 2002 as is often said, triple h's mannerisms and character are too *intense* to be a legitimate face. he needs to change his character slightly or turn heel. he is in character purgatory at the moment.
