Perfect drink...

When you need something to spin your rotor on Sunday morning (the "hair of the dog" approach actually works using science, so who am I to argue with success), what do you go with?

For me, it's gotta be Pirate Coffee. Mug of black coffee with two ounces of Woods Old Navy. Kills the pain, even if you're not hung over.

If you mean to cure a hangover, nothing beats Gatorade... MT Dew can be helpful as well...

I've heard that pickle juice is great for hangovers, but... yuck. I like pickles and all, but I can't imagine downing a glass of freaking pickle juice. I think I'd rather have a headache and feel nauseated.

Pickle Juice does indeed work , but like you said, it's not the most pleasant thing.

I tend to use protein shakes with banannas, strawberries, yogurt and honey. That does the job.

I wasn't specifically referring to hangover cures - although that is one of Pirate Coffee's many uses. I was thinking more of a good drink to have on the balcony on a sunday morning, after finally dragging oneself out of bed at quarter to ten.

Although a gin and brine is a passable emergency drink (as long as you have WAY more gin than brine - like only a couple drops of brine - it's kind of a homeless martini), I wouldn't be as inclined to indulge that early in the day.

Gatorade Vitamin Water tastes great and replenishes nutrients lost to Alcohol poisoning :-)

Pint of water, then a cup of coffee, then a wicked greasy breakfast washed down with a few Screwdrivers. Hangover cured.

Also, has anyone here had any of that Sopalmine (spelling?) stuff??? It's like an alkaseltzer with caffeine and codeine, so it's not sold in the US. But it is the fastest hangover cure that I've used.
